Spray on bed liner for a hopper?

Hello all! So I found my old eVLution 3 in the closet the other day and I've been wanting to give it a custom paint job. I got the idea to try spray on truck bed liner and see how it looks. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this and how it's turned out for them. What do you guys think?

just keep in mind that spray in bed liner is heavy compared to paint

For what it is worth, I would mask the base where the feedneck clamps on. I would think the bed liner goes on thick and it might not fit in your feedneck.

Good call maloneoni I'll be sure to do that. As for weight, yeah it is heavier but I don't think it'll be enough to be noticeable.

why? it will be rough, maybe a little tough if you crawl threw the woods often or something, but it will eliminate any chance of a ball bouncing off the hopper..

did that to a buddys eggy turned out purdy good except where i touched it and left a fingerprint

deffinately takes more prep than regular paint as you dont want it in/on the feedneck and youll want to tape off the edges of the lid

Sounds like it would look cool, but would be harder to wipe a hit.

Not that anyone cheats or anything.

I would try it though.

No reason why it wouldnt work besides being heavy as hell. The thing would literally never break. Just make sure you dont seal the battery door shut!

I actually did this to my Rotor after almost all of the old paint started to wear off. Personally, I love the results. So here's a look at my finished product:

If you want to know how I prepped it just ask. It's not that hard to clean after a day at the field, is tough as nails, and still gave it a unique look. If there's anything else I can say, it would be to let it dry for about 3 days before you even think about touching it.

Very cool idea. It is possible the well known bed liner may not be the best option. Line-X, the company that makes that product, has a plethora of different sprays. I would call them up and let them know the application so they can point your in the right direction.
