Vice frame on a DM3

Like the title says, I'm curious to see if a frame from a bob long vice would fit on a matrix. I'm thinking the ASA/regulator threading should be the same, so I would just need to drill a hole in the vice ASA for the matrix ASA "screw". Then I would want to get an oring groove milled at the top of the vice frame to prevent leaks. I don't see the rear screw being a problem as I have done a UL frame mod that turned out well.

Only problem is I don't have a vice to mess around with and I'd like some input before I buy one to chop up. Does this mod sound do-able?

EDIT: also I realize the vice frame will need a pocket milled to fit the DM3 solenoid. Shouldn't be a deal breaker though.

Thanks,

Drew

Anything is possible with enough money. The Vice frame is not flat across the top so it will not be easy. A tray would be easiest. I'm not familiar enough with the "meat" of a DM3 to say whether you could "pocket" the body for the Vice frame.

Traditionally, people mount UL frames on DM3's for a modern frame on a classic body.

Marq7 frame will work, but then you have alot of bugs to work out with the eyes and plugs.

It has to be planed, pocketed and rewired but I know someone who has already done it.
