I like that a lot! For however funky it looks inside, it sure looks awesome on the outside! Great work

Looking at the video I can't tell, but how did you do the mag release?

if you look at the pics you will see the airsoft fn2000 mag release that i cut a slot (backwards C) into it to fit around a screw head i put into the tacamo magwell mag release so when i push the fn2000 mag release button at the bottom just in front of the mag it teders against the screw head pulling out the mag release

Clever, yet simple...

How does the trigger work? After thinking about this for a while I realized that the trigger, if indeed connected to bar connected to the bolt, will not reset if you hold it back. Like, the bolt will stay forward not loading another ball in. This would make it quite hard to shoot fast, as you would have to make sure and let the trigger go all the way forward before shooting, or else face the wrath of chopping.

not sure if this was for me or not but if so here you go,....the ion internals run off of an electric board that has a micro switch attached to it for the trigger normally,... all i did was wire in a second micro switch and place it right behind the fn2000's trigger so their is almost no trigger pull 1/4 in maybe if that,...fires as i can pull with no feed or brake issues,.. plus the board has 3 round burst full auto and alot of other set up firing modes

Well I meant it for Dzuari because I really would prefer to not get into electronics . I have been toying with this bullpup idea with my friends for a while and the trigger has always stumped me, so I was wondering how he did it

The more I get into Ions the more I am inspired to start wiring crazy things and making ridiculous machinery for paintball.
The whole wiring process isn't overly difficult, you just jumper the wire from the first switch to the second switch and voila, you have a trigger.

That FN2000 looks really sick, that's awesome! I want to do something like that soon.

He explains it himself. From what I can tell there isn't a whole lot of electronics knowledge that needs to be applied to move a microswitch a few inches.
Lots of knowledge otherwise, though, it's darn hard to actually place the hardware where it needs to go.

I think that if someone wanted to cut the crap out of a Dangerous Power G3 or similar marker they could get something crazy compact. I have some ideas bouncing around in my noggin.

The electronics aren't that difficult if your just moving stuff, it's just a little frustrating to have to worry about batteries and the like. On the flip side, having Eyes to avoid chopping is a huge benefit. I kinda regret making my bullpup mechanical sometimes. It's a bit of a ***** to clean. But at the same time, I don't have to worry about batteries or broken power buttons and junk like i do on my Speedball Ions.

Send me G3, I'll try!
Actually, I think the E1 would be a better choice to make an electro bullpup. the way the VA separates from the body would make it easier to hide without major cutting and risking leaks.

Hah! I don't have to to gut. Although you make a good point about the E1. maybe I can find one on the cheap. Pick up a spare DMAG magwell... Gears are turning.

The E1 also has the benefit of being a ridiculously tiny gun. If you look at the overall profile of the gun it ends up being not much bigger than 5.5".
Interesting concept.
I'm debating majorly whether I want to do something with the SP8 I got or not...trade value is virtually nil, so I'm wondering what I have to lose by building something awesome.

2nwyka, Do it!

Lots of options with all the parts of the sp8. Make it a mag fed sp8 perhaps? Or use the parts to make a bullpup. Go nuts.

And yeah, I thought the E1 would make a cool bullpup automatic pistol actually.

Can I say the magwell on a SP8 is almost perfect size to fit DAM mags
It takes alot of difficult cutting though. You'll have to locate the reg too.
If you have a stock smaller regs like a CP(yuck) or a AKA Sidewinder(splendid) will fit.Or you could use an Axe Relay the mounted on the gripframe.
Also there looks like there's enough room to mount a SP1\Vibe noid upside down where the feedneck hump is
Can you guess what my current project is
Have to ask 2nwyka are the logos on your SP8 puttied in?If so you may have one of my old SP8s I sold here that's been recently traded

I don't get maxtact. Apparently Maxtact/scarab and Milsig.ca (NOT the actual milsig) are all one company which now includes "Honorcore" who are the folks making these markers including the F2000 in the news right now.

Also they're apparently the people behind the "Milsig M18" which actually has nothing to do with Milsig. It seems like Milsig.ca are angry at Milsig for cutting their distribution arrangement due to poor customer service or something. Apparently the real Milsig are suing their pants off as we speak.

All of which means there seem to be many folks on the interwebs who are refusing to buy anything by Maxtact/scarab/honorcore/milsig.ca . I don't know the whole story so wont make a call either way.

Loving the ion2000, btw. Is there a way to select fire modes? Personally I'm a big fan of any magfed with eyes and it's a shame there's only one on the market.

I'm thinking about it. I might add considerable trade value to it if I mod it really well. I was thinking of just taking the frame and can out of it and doing something interesting...Just a thought.

No, the logos are pretty intact, as far as I know the guy was the original owner until I traded it, said he bought it new for his brother a while back but didn't have a use for it now.
