yeah thats the idea Ive been scheming

spyder style mount except with the screws on the side instead of the top

keeping them on the sides will keep the holes/threads away from the rear breech oring

Agree with the direct thread style, probably a real fine pitch with not much to work with,Ive bought many Ions with striped breech threads, your newest idea seems more dooable and stronger
Have access to liquid nitrogen?Could machine a stub to fit, shrink it with nitrogen smaller than the diameter then reheat with a torch to expand it and fuse the two part together then use a double clamping feedneck.Ive seen it work on submarine parts

The Bronze standard wins it again.

God I hate cocker threading. Damn you Bud for that one *shakes banana peel*.

if only it was a tad coarser of a threading and shorter.

oi Panda: ever thought of utilizing magnets? I still am dying to see a spool or poppet system that relies on magnets (I know, Angel did it. I thought of it first ).

Like if a spool, then magnets on the tail end of the bolt and on the face of the bolt stop, but just strong enough to mitigate the rearwards force and not enough to stop it from being able to seat without running a noticeably higher pressure.

thought about magnetic grip panels, I have pondered on magnets in the internals of markers as well but I could never find myself saying "yeah that NEEDS magnets"

I feel like they would be implimented simply for novelty so you could say "yeah its got magnets in it"

Magnets with aligning pins or something would be pretty cool. They'd probably have to be polycarb panels or something similar to keep them from getting pulled off all the time, though. Use a hollow steel insert in the grip panel and put the magnet under the guide pin or something, might be a neat project.

"Because magnets" is a perfectly valid justification, I think.
