Post TACAMO Magazine Conversion Kit Evaluation

Greetings Everyone!
We're glad to see that everyone's excited about the new magazine fed conversion for the Tippmann and BT markers. We would like to see your inputs and feed backs by allowing a couple of the forum members to test and evaluate the magazine kits.

In order to participate, you must be:
1. one of the top posters. (Number of Post Counts)
2. be a member of the forum for at least 1 year.
3. have recommendations/vouches from other members (preferably, we're looking for nominations from other members)
4. consider forum member's suggestions on which elements to test/eval
5. last but not least, provide us with feedbacks.

We have working prototypes, but we want the paintball, especially the milsim community, to give us feedback/suggestions into developing one of the biggest and best scenario/milsim changing products.

We would like you, the members of the paintball community, to come up with the test criteria and to chose the tester by voting.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them.

If you have not heard about this, you can check out this link for more information:

Hmm... Id be down to evaluate one.

I think 20 years of playing and building custom guns would be a good atribute.. plus if I cant break it nobody can

I would be interested.
I'd have to a 98 and a5 in the attic.
This kind of upgrade would get me away from my Angel A1.

Courage is moving into danger when there's a means of escape.

If you are aware of the priciple and you violate it knowingly, it's not a violation.
It's called good tactics.

That sounds like a fun upgrade. Iíve been playing with my TPX now for several games and love magazine feed ! I think it would be a blast to run and gun with my A-5 using limited paint and a magazine style feed. A full sight picture acquired by looking down the markerís actual sights without the interference of a hopper would take playing with my MP-5 style A-5 to a pretty cool level. Looking forward to seeing this kit in action! Also Jackel411 is a prime candidate for this test! Always has helpful posts and has been posting to PBnation forever.

Thanks for the response guys!

Would anyone else like to T&E the new mag kit here? We will start compiling a list for potential testers on PBnation shortly.

I would love to test one. I got 2 guys on my team with mag fed T68's. So we can do a side by side comparison.
One tip i can give you is too leave the price at $60. The final price after the pre order tease is a ridiculous $120

120 isnt bad when you think about it.

New body halves from TPI is around 60-80 gun depending and with this your getting a mag.

Personally I bet most people that are going to buy one (IE me) are just going to take their beater 98 and swap parts around

Not too ridiculous. A pair of stock A-5 receiver halves from Tippmannparts is $100, so you gotta figure an "upgrade" version is worth more. What I'm more concerned about is the limited 20 round magazine, which the kit only includes 1, and extras are upwards of $37 apiece. That, and I don't really care for the styling of the 98/Alpha Black/Project Salvo/Carver One body kit.

I wouldn't mind working one. I have an x7 that would be perfect for it. I've been on this board for a loooong time (I think 2k5) and actually forgot about it for a while, hence few posts.

I would like to be part of this, we have a small milsim woods team here in NYC. and love to check out the Mag conversion kit.

History- 10 yrs of PB, both woods and speedball. Markers own; 2x M98, 1 A5, 1 X7. 4x Milsim-Ions. 1x MiniMag. and few other markers.

Our group mostly A5, so love to check out one of the kit before our group invest in it.

I would like to test these as well, I can offer you testing regarding compatibility with an almost complete collection of all previous tacamo products for the 98 as well as comparisons to several current mag fed markers including the tiberius 8, 9, 8.1, 9.1, and a milsig K series.

I would be willing to test one as well. I own both an A-5 and X7 Phenom. I'm also the owner of Killjoy Industries. We manufacture aftermarket triggers, stocks and rails specifically for Tippmanns.

I could easily load out one of these kits and also test how aftermarket parts fit, look, and feel.

I have also been selected to test a new board for the Phenom that will be available very soon. The board offers 4 new firing modes and removes the ROF cap. The board I'm getting is capped at 45 BPS and offers a "true" full auto setting. I could easily test the ROF and feed rate limits of your magazine on the Phenom. I would love to get my hands on one of those box mags with the new board!!!

I am a very active and long standing member on the A5 and X7OG forums as well.

Just let me know.

I don't wish to test one, but would love a mag for a bolt action rifle project
when they become available seperately.
Good luck with this.

I'd love to test the conversion kit. Unfortunately I don't qualify.

I participated in D-Day 2010 and had a blast and can't wait to go back again next year. I really found out how little paint you use in a scenario game like that. I only went through one box of paint for the 6 days I was there. I played in all the mini scenarios and all day on Saturday.

I purchased almost all my gun upgrades down there, hammerhead barrel, RAP4 shroud, magazine, offset rail, throat mic, and also red dot from another vendor. I currently own a Tippmann A-5.

My goal for next year is to buy this kit, junk my 200 round hopper, be strapped with several magazines on my vest instead of the loud and bulky 100 round pods, and look good while doing it, haha.

I have a question for you RAP4, it looks like this will work with my shroud, I just want to be 100% sure before I preorder. Here's a picture of my gun.

If you don't have enough volunteers from PbNation, please consider me! I'd love to test this kit, and I'll be more then willing to provide plenty of feedback.

If it helps any, I live in North Dakota, and I can test it in subfreezing temps.

Not like I've played when it's that cold out or anything...lol

I'm also a lefty, and find the hopper to get in line of sight, very annoying.
