Anybody paying the $8 for the HD?

I just want to see if it is worth it.

Not really worth it IMO, the rain ruins it either way.

HD wasn't much of an upgrade IMO but I'm content paying such a small fee for the webcast anyhow. I know it can't be cheap to put together.

its not substantially better in terms of quality, but 8$ for the whole weekend was an easy sell.

We actually have two HD feeds, so the difference will depend a bit on whether you get the ultra-high one or the medium one.

Also note that it can take about 15 seconds for the player to ramp up your speed, so if you're just flipping back and forth you won't notice it. If you bring them up in separate windows and wait about 20 seconds the difference will be more obvious.

edit: after watching this morning i thinks its certainly worth the few bucks, but pba needs to fix the occasional glitch that i found on the hd but not on the free version.

i bought it today, 2 bucks i couldnt resist. it's better resolution than the regular free, that's for sure. i don't think its legit 4 times the resolution like they say but the frame rate is a little more glitchy so it's kind of a tradeoff.

i think charging for higher resolution is perfect for pba. i've always thought they were missing out by not charging like 10 bucks for a whole weekend to watch psp.

and this way they still keep it free for the public but can make a little extra money, which they deserve imo.

i hope they get little bugs worked out so the picture isn't glitchy when you pay for hd. i know i'd buy a weekend pass for psp for ten bucks every time.
