New project, could use some help...

Okay guys I've been playing paintball since 1998 and my first gun was actually the 98. I've mainly been playing pump the last couple years. But I'm wanting another toy. I seen a couple pics in the pic thread with some stuff from rap4 but I am so lost figuring out what I need to make it how I want. I was thinking about using the 98 as a base and upgrading it to what I want. I'm going to leave a list of things I'd like on it and could use some opinions on how to get it that way. If a different base gun would be better please advise. What I would like on it....

Mag-fed

13 ci. off the back with no external hoses

Decent length barrel and a very short one for fun

At least three mags, maybe more. I want them compact, nothing too bulky but would like around 10+ ball holding capacity.

Single trigger is fine

And no rails or unnecessary fat. I don't even need a stock, I'll just use the tank as my stock. That's how I run my phantoms too.

and the rap4 T468 looks awesome. I also play a CQB style.

another thing i have seen others do is do a TPX and add some mod kits to make it into a small CQB looking rifle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_FKxUpAgrs

Thanks. I seen a cool pic of I think an smg. What would be a good starter gun to build upon? I was thinking the 98 or alpha black.

My budget is not capped. But I don't need anything great. I don't even need it to be an electro. I just want something basic that is clean and simple that is mag fed. Things I'd like are as followed...

Mag-fed

Asa off the back instead of bottom lined (no external hoses)

Top cocking or rear cocking would be a plus too

there are 2 ways i know of making the gun cock differently.
1st, you can use this on the 98 custom:
http://www.zephyrpaintball.com/produ...98-Custom.html
2nd, you can do a custom job to an alpha black and use a T-handle like a real gun. (that's if you choose to use the alpha black as a base gun.) here's a link to the tutorial:
http://alphablackforum.com/forums/vi...hp?f=41&t=3530

most tippmann setups have to show atleast a little hose so im not entirely sure what you mean when you say "Asa off the back instead of bottom lined (no external hoses)." there is a way to use a 13ci tank directly on the back of a tippmann but it will get expensive. (make sure to choose the 13ci tank & buttstock kit)
98 Custom:
http://www.rap4.com/store/paintball/...8-reg--p-10260
A5:
http://www.rap4.com/store/paintball/...r-tippmann-a-5
X7:
http://www.rap4.com/store/paintball/...for-tippman-x7
X7 Phenom:
http://www.rap4.com/store/paintball/...mann-x7-phenom

if thats not what you looking for you could always use this on your 98 custom and have a remote coil coming out of the back:
http://www.paintball-online.com/Rap4...KRFA98-0X.aspx

you can also just have a remote coil directly connected to the valve itself, but i don't think that's what you were looking for.

as for the barrel, i recommend these in 10"-12" (order from worst to best):
J&J Ceramic:
http://www.tippmannparts.com/J-J-Cer...an-98-p/98.htm
Stiffi Carbon fiber:
http://www.paintball-online.com/Stif...FQrNnAodwGcAPQ

With that all being said, i recommend you get the tippmann project salvo as the base gun. it uses 98 custom barrels and stocks. plus, you can do the T-Handle cocking mod. as for the mag fed idea, i have no idea how you can do that on any tippmann. i sure someone else can help you with that. GL with your project & i hope this was helpful. Peace.

Get a 98 and the RAP4 MKV kit. Then mod in a T handle. I think they make rear ASAs for them, I remember mine having a channel for one when I had it. Dmags will be out soon so mags will be cheap and they hold 20 rounds, 10 each side.

If you want an internal airline, the Phenom and the MKP kit would do it. No cocking arm though.

I second the RAP4 MKV kit, its awesome and I have asked when they will be releasing the Dmags that will accept the first strike rounds and paintballs(no answer).I think you can hide the line in the body.I have not purchased any yet but have a few on the list. The new spyder dual feed looks good too but Barrels may be an issue with the dual feed system?most woud not be using the hopper feed anyway.

I believe they come out mid this year for the MKV. The MKP kits are out already I think.

Any cycloe feed Tippman with a 30 round tac cap is permitted into MAGFED play. Follow the lik in my sig and you can see my example of what I created that is similar to what you want. Try something like that and just add a Tacamo MKP system, or just run with the tac cap.

I agree with everybody but I would still recommend a gun that is already Mag feed built rather then a conversion. I have a converted 98 and it sucks. so many chops. BTW, gun is sold so don't try and help me fix it, I have already been to hell and back fixing it.

WRONG

Magfed, tac caps and "cigar tubes" are all limited ammo games, not magfed. A real magfed game is magfed or nothing.

I would just suggest getting a rap4 product, in the end it would probably be cheaper than modding something else for what you want.
