Meh, people can call it what they will. Going out of their way to be flown in and paid for to play a tournament sounds like a bad deal to me.

I'm not knocking the players or the (real) teams in the NPPL. There are some solid squads. All I'm getting at is that it seems somewhat ridiculous to add talent like that to your roster and bump people down (which I'm assuming they'll have to do because I don't know or feel like looking up the roster) when the professional division is largely watered down and those resources could be better spent elsewhere. And anyone saying Dave Bains isn't for hire is crazy.

Mind you, I could be wrong about the rostering deal and if so, ignore what I said. It is a somewhat uninformed statement and I admit that, but what the hell, this is Pbnation, isn't it?

Good luck to Uprising and all teams competing in tournament ball.

Uprising had two podiums with no big names (beating teams like damage, impact, x factor, aftershock etc to get on the podium), had a frustrating last season, we were short players and who better to fill the spots than Alex, Dave and Corey? No one was bumped down, I see Dave every week and it just seemed to make sense. Like Terry said, these guys wanted to play.

Hb is always fun, I look forward to it.

Great to see Uprising get some committed players, these guys deserve to win. It would be great to see a winning NW team again too, even though some players are not northwesterners.

Flown in? Corey and mouse are both in SoCal and Dave owns the field they practice at. Seems more like they were offered a chance to play and took it in order to be able to play HB. I talk to Corey pretty regularly and he was just stoked to be able to play 7man since he's on the Ironmen now. Good luck to Uprising!

Marginalize the NPPL all you want, but there is no denying that their yearly event in HB is one tournament paintballs crown jewels. And I think you find it hard to get any PSP pro not attending this year to say they are glad to be missing it.

I think it is great news for Uprising most of all because they're going to get to play in a major event with some great veteran pros on their side. Who would pass up a chance to do that?

Which one of us wouldn't jump at the chance to have any of those guys on your team for a serious event? I'm still hoping to get Bains to come out to Dday with me!
and this. Good Luck this year.

I can definitely see Uprising benefiting from this influx of talent. Congrats for making some power moves.

Now, most of these players represent paintball companies who don't necessarily support the NPPL. Will they rep their anti NPPL sponsors in the NPPL?

I look forward to seeing some good games vs Dynasty.

Im stoked for Uprising, and cant wait to see a Podium finish, they deserve it

Great players tho
Ever notice those who talk the most trash about the NPPL either financially benefit from the PSP or are guys who don't play or only do so in the bottom divisions of the PSP. Hard to listen to nobodies talk about how bad the pro division is this year and how irrelevant the NPPL is yet the pros all seem to be doing whatever it takes to get to play at HB.

awesome pick ups Uprising!

NPPL is still a league which demands some respect, some people like flip flops some like shoes, with out choice there would be more of a reason to moan and groan. Its all paintball so just enjoy!

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
