Recently Got the TechTBolt: ITS TOO GOOD

My G4 shot 375fps at the chrono
I turned the velocity all the way down and it still at 305-310fps.

Do I drop or increase the dwell settings on the board?
or is it something else?

Btw that engine is great!

your dwell should be at 10-12 then adjust your HPR as to what the field requirement. Also G4 dont have an LPR.

▌ SOLENOID DWELL
This value controls the allotted time (in milliseconds) the solenoid is open. If too low, the marker will not cycle. If
the value is too high, the solenoid with remain open too long therefore wasting decreasing battery and air efficiency.

You should be able to run the dwell at 12-14 and still shoot as low as 260fps. Dwell setting is not the problem.

I could try a different reg as that sounds like its not lowering your pressure enough. Also, when you lowered your pressure, did you continue firing while you lowered it or did you just crank it down.. you could have damaged the reg seat.

I suggest de gassing the gun, turn the reg all the way in (it should be VERY VERY easy to turn inward. turn it in until it wants to stop, dont force it.)

Air it up and turn the regulator out while dryfiring. do this until the gun starts to shoot and then use a crono to set your speed.

the bolt kicked it up from 280 stock to 380w/ techt bolt which means its more efficient. The reg is all the way in not busted and smooth. shoots good. 290. 295 305 i just dont like playing so close to 300. but i cant lower it anymore. What else would lower the FPS?

please do this

the dwell is NOT THE PROBLEM. You can run the dwell at 40ms if you want and it will still be able to shoot 250fps or LOWER. The regulator is not doing its job right and needs to either be reset, replaced, or fixed OR its not being adjusted properly. something is wrong

something is wrong if the reg is all the way in and still allowing enough pressure to shoot 300fps. you should be able to cut off all air flow and have the gun not shoot at all. You have a bad reg if its all the way in and doing 300fps.

Sounds like maybe the reg is not working right. Should be able to adjust it down further than that.

I'd put money on it being that little ball bering behind the velocity adjustment screw. It is likely getting stuck and is not in the correct position.

Also check to make sure the silver washer under the reg piston spring is there. If not you're pressure may not go low enough

^ most likely

Sometimes people see that huge velocity increase when installing the techt bolt, first thing they do is crank the reg down an entire turn (quarter turn can be as much as a 70psi decrease!). you need to shoot while turning it down or you can hurt things. A working reg will run at very low pressures, low enough to where the gun wont shoot!

I had this exact issue once. If i degassed the gun and took off the reg and cranked it down the reg would not seal off. Honestly I have no clue why it does this but i messed around with my reg seat and it worked. I disassembled the reg completely and i took out the seat and the ball bearing. I then screwed in the adjustment screw all the way to see if something was wrong with the threads but nothing was. The i put back in the bearing and then cranked down the screw to see if anything was wrong with the bearing and the side of the reg but nothing was. Then i dropped in the seat (make sure it goes in the right way) with out changing the adjustment. Then i put the reg back together and i tried blowing through the reg and it had sealed off. Then i tried it with HPA and it still was sealed off. Try that and see if it works.

degassing before adjusting reg seems to be the best idea.

If its a g4 open the reg up and take out the silver shim. That may be giving the internal spring just that bit too much compression not allowing it to go lower.
