Trying to get friends from my school...
None of them are committed enough to pitch in money to buy paint and admission

I've got 10+ committed players to high schools paintball club. Just sucks we have to go to Chicago or Dallas to play regional's. Its 8-10 hours both ways. Put a regional in Kansas City next year

Look for regular season events next year and a regional may follow... We will go where the players are.

Just adding on, allow more than just one hopper of paint per game. I kind of feel like it belittles the league and makes it seem limited. I dont know, I'd just really like to see some high schools players getting nasty! May bring more teams in.

I've got friends playing in quite a few high schools around me, there are two high schools in my town alone! I'll get to talking to some field owners to see if they would be willing to host an event.

The biggest thing preventing people from playing paintball is money... this allows more to play. There are plenty of other leagues that those with deep pockets can go play, but this league is for this purpose.

That makes sense. I guess I didn't think of that.

just a suggestion, but have you tried changing it where players just have to be in highschool or junior high? seems to me like you would get alot more teams playing if this happened, since its hard enough to get people to commit, when you might already know commited players, but yall dont go to the same school

I agree, I like going on the field with a hopper and maybe 4 pods and laying down paint but he is right it does cost more and it makes for being more accurate with paint which will make you better. Only thing is it does call for a lot more bunkering which could discourage new players...

On the idea of more paint allowed per game - have a everyone put their guns in semi capped at 10 and you can bring as much paint as you want. I've gotten plenty of tippmanns close to 10 bps. No matter though - just two more cents.

On a side note, i have talked to local field owners in East Kansas. One field owner is excited about the idea of a high school event, consdiering both his sons play. Also have interest from 5 different high schools in one night

The idea of this league is not to find people that are already committed, it is to help grow the sport by building new players. The other main concept is to represent your school... to say Central High School is better than Northeast High...

Believe it or not, there is not more bunkering in the limited paint format... You have to make smart moves and take selective shots. Shooting with limited paint, you can't hold a lane and intimidate players from coming out of a bunker. The thing that discourages more players.... MONEY.

Thank you for the thought. We are very happy with the current format, it is for a specific purpose.

As far as East Kansas, have the field owner contact me at todd@highschoolpaintball.com for future possibilities.

Just got the chance to send Todd an Email. Just busy from Dallas last weekend to get to this. Our scenario event is 2 weeks out and our PSP Regional starting up spring is busy.

I only have the one son that plays but the the other boy may as well be mine..
Both boys having 4 years of eligibility has them excited. Its finding the 3rd player from such a small school district may be the frustrating part. Middle America is a football/baseball/basketball orientated atmosphere that finding a solid player with the experience these 14 year olds will be tough. However, I do think with the talent from the area a very competitive High School tournament could be done with lots of teams.

My main priority is my sons paintball. Secondary is coaching and managing the PSP Team.

Side Note: Son just texted me and is wanting to hold tryouts. That was fast.

Will be talking to my school administration to see if we can get it supported by the school. We have a lot of people here in the Omaha, NE region.

We are considering all locations for the next school year. Start getting high school teams together and playing paintball... Talk to your field owners about hosting.

It would be great if the cap was 2 people from 1 school and 1 "guest" from a school within 1-100 miles. That would open up MANY more teams! Also, how many people per roster?
