The Boss

something I started about 4 months ago after seeing wiswarsniper's mech ion (vespa I belive) started an itch in my brain that only chips could scratch

my overall design goals...

- minimalist aesthetics, no milling, nothing extra, pure sexy function
- I want this simply to be a tube that shoots paintballs
- pneumatic actuation, because **** batteries

Ill let the pictures tell the story, if you have questions ask

Funny you mention that...

also, the last pic is literally just a piece of 1 inch round stock sitting there to give an idea of the size, body dimensions are going to be approximately the same, 1in. OD by 7.5 inches long

plan is to ano it gloss black, and there will be a single rubber nubbin detent placed under the breech hidden by the frame

I will say that getting all the valving and hoses routed is tricky, but I know I can do it

Oh man, don't be like me. So many started projects, if only things on my mind, and actual parts, and none of them done. At least I don't have any outstanding customer projects now.

I'm liking the idea. Batteries are annoying.

I am curious about one thing...in order to have a 1" OD, the id and overall volume of the firing can will be reduced. Have you by chance figured out exactly how this will affect your operating pressure? I'm currently working on something similar using a copper pipe with 20mm id, so I'm curious how you've dealt with this.

If you ever decide to sell one... I would be a buyer! Sick, I love the minimalist idea.

Aw dang, I miss working in a machine shop where I could do cool crap like this.

That's way above what I could do, it's looking awesome! That'd be cool if you could do something minimal with the feedneck, or at least something that fit the tubular look of the body. That frame just looks sick on there...
I wish I had the brains to do stuff like this...
