HPA Tank safety question

Hey guys,

I have a Pure Energy 72ci 3000psi steel tank that has been sitting in my closet for at least five or six years. The reg reads that it has ~2500 psi in it. The hydro test date is 04/2009, so I'm well past that. Should I be worried about this? I've read that regs get stressed by long term storage with air in them, so if I go to drain the air out of it am I looking at a safety hazard?

It hasn't been used all that much, never took any hard hits, no dings or anything just some cosmetic scratches.

Hope to hear back soon!

Drain the air then get it sent off for hydro testing.

That's what I plan on doing but I shouldn't worry about reg integrity or anything?

They should check that when you send it in.

screw it into and detached asa and let the air bleed out, if you feel uncomfortable put it under a heavy mat or somthing

Honsetly, the hydro date is overly safe. You're fine. Especially if it was only lying there and didn't get damaged or anything. But still do bring it to a good place to have it tested.
