There are also carbon fiber barrel kits as well, not covered in the comparing thread linked. The Deadlywind Fibur and Fibur-X. I know because I make them (shameless plug!)

If it were anyone else, I'd but my favorite kit to date is the Deadlywind w/ SS inserts. I've done comparison videos utilizing the Deadlywind, found in sig. Just a great kit.

A barrel is a barrel is a barrel. as long as the bore is smooth it'll shoot.

Paint to bore matching and even quality of the paint will make a big difference, almost more or more then a new barrel.
