Makes me feel pretty foolish for spending $60 on a Nano feedneck

Sounds like it isn't the Nano at all. It's the Sniper/Vanquish feedneck with an adapter to fit the Axe/Mini. And future Axe bodies will be made to accept the feedneck without an adapter, presummably.

I think I read something about how the Nano wasn't cost efficient to produce so they stropped making them. This feedneck is being used on a lot of Empire guns already so Empire only has to make a simple insert compared to an entirely different design. It's odd they are going to call it the Nano considering the first version looks to be smaller.

I heard the company that used to make them (Taiwan, China, wherever) went out of business taking the blueprint with them.

Hi Ross it's jake Watson not sure if you remember me but I'm the guy doing the axe grips. Anyway I wanted to know about when these bad boys will be available. Also is it necessary to use heat on the locktite or can a put a wooden dowl in the feedneck and use a vice. Any info would be great. Thanks

Unlikely. If empire would give me a few for free then I'd dimension and recreate the CAD files for them, but I'm sure someone already on their staff could do the same.

Should be end of May early June area. Sometimes you can break the stock neck loose without heat.

ok i know the nano/low rise gives you a "smaller" profile as well as some people just like the look of it.

But seriously what benefit does it provide? After looking at the low rise and teh stock feed neck... i am more inclinded to stay with the stock as it has more "bite" surface on the hopper.

thoughts?

I can't see how machining and including an "insert" would be any more cost effective.

Why would they prototype and release a part that they could not make money on?

C'mon.. they've been around long enough... I seriously doubt they work like that. We're not talking about some dude machining a handful of parts in his garage...

AND if that was the reason... that explains why so many paintball businesses come and go... and why paintball will never be mainstream. You gotta have big cash to play on the big stage with other mainstream sports.

Check it out

http://empirepaintball.com/empire-clamping-feedneck

Hope I did that link right.

Looks good, thumb wheel looks cool. Definitely not as low as the nano. But might be better view of what your shooting at? I'm going to see my local shop next week to see it in person, and most likely but one.
