The proto is exactly what I need, I am just worried that my dm8 won't fit in it.. Someone left a comment saying their dm4 did not fit.

your DM8 will fit in that case for sure, the DM4s are ALOT bigger, the proto is the same size as the dm8 in terms of fitting

The dm8s fit, but wen you zip up the proto case, pull the zipper out a little so the zipper doesn't nick the Asa. Happened to mine and it made me sad ): lol
