i did not grease the bumper just the bolt and the bolt guide stem. I thought the "micro honing" was supposed to fix this kind of stuff..also these shavings caused my etha not to fire when pulling the trigger very slowly about once every ten times. all i would here is a slight poof and no shot.

That last pic looks like you have a different bumper than I do. Mine simply looks like 2 black donut rings without all those little bumps. When did you buy your Etha?

So I talked to Tim at TechT, he has never seen this happen before. He sent me out a new bolt that has been "extra buffed" to ensure the anodizing sticks properly. I will run that one when I get it and see how it holds up. I am sending him my lemon bolt to inspect it to determine the fault. Going back to the stock bolt makes me realize how I NEVER want to shoot an etha without an mrt bolt ever again. I hope they can get this sorted out!

the ping sound is from the spring in the poppit, hence the springless poppit. If you like the way your etha shoots then no need for the mrt bolt, but there is a difference. With the mrt bolt you can barely feel the gun move when you shoot it if at all. Night and day difference for me.

i would defintiely buy an MRT bolt to see how it runs and from what i have heard but i will not go near one until techt can confirm that it will not harm the bolt guide and rip bumpers off like so many people have had happen. i've had bad experiences with techt bolts in the past...

The honing process has fixed the "wear" issues. As for the bumper... I have seen that on both ours and stock bolts. That seems to occur if the inside leading edges of the spring (ours or stock) has a little bit of a burr. It can be remedied vary easy if that is the case.

what about the issue of the soft tips not fitting on the front of the bolt right or having the spring yank them off?

Like I said it's not a bolt as much as it is a spring issue. If the spring has any type of slight burr on the end it can snag the tip and yank it off.
As of right now the bolt seems to have all the bugs worked out.

Are they? That's the only thing holding me back from purchasing one. There's not a single bit of wear on the bolt guide or breach from the stock bolt on my Etha.
