LPR on DM11

Is anyone elses super sensitive? According to my manual I should turn the LPR in clockwise until slight resistance is felt. This is apparently @ 15psi. Then the manual says you can back the LPR out counter-clockwise @ 4 turns to be at the optimal 75psi. When I do that I have a ton of kick. If I try the method for tuning the marker on here which is turn the LPR in clockwise and get the bolt to stick forward. Then slowly turn the adjuster out counter-clockwise until it cycles normally I only end up at about 2 turns out. Any ideas? I checked and the LPR shims are in correctly according to the manual.

What's your dwell?, and what's wrong with 2 turns out, if you're using a dwell of like 21, or so you can do 2 1/2 turns to 3 I prefer 3 turns out 21 dwell

Raise your Dwell @ 21ms which in result will allow you to lower your LPR & HPR Pressures for a smoother, more consistent shooting DM. You can start at 2 1/2 TO on your LPR and do small increments of 1/8 TO to get the optimal cycling of the marker without any FSDO.

If your gun works at that low of an LPR setting, use it. If you start experiencing bolt stick, turn it out a little.

Dwell of 21 ms sounds awful lol. I am guessing that it will be very very inefficient at 21 lol

No because the Matrix platform fires off a metered amount of air. Now you could tune it to close before it lets it al out but that could cause shoot down.

I agree good sir LOL. I will give it a try and report back. We dont get 4500 fills here since we are filling off scuba tanks. More like 2500-3000. But as long as I can get a Rotor and 3-4 pods I am happy

Looking forward to your results.

My DM12 has about enough cases through it, now, that I'll probably start playing with some tuning.

hi,

On my dm11 too, with the lpr on 4, the kick is terrrible!

The best result is on dwell 20 with lpr 2 1/2 or dwell 21 in winter mode, the kick and sound signature is barely noticeable

Alright alright, I know I am going to get a bunch of crap for digging up this very old thread.....but

I had commented above on how sensitive my LPR was. Seems like I was not the only one. Well today I was really going through my DM11 to get it ready for play this year and I made it a point to wipe off all the shims in the LPR. Guess what??? I have 11 small shims and 2 big shims. That is 2 more small shims than the manual shows. So just an FYI for those guys wondering why the marker kicks so much at 4 turns out on the LPR....really try seperating the shims and I bet you have more than you are supposed to as well.

Yep...what my manual shows too....BUT I bought the marker brand new a couple years ago and low and behold...13 shims in the LPR. I would think that is why I cannot go 3-4 full turns out on the LPR like the manual suggests

Interesting. Try going to what the manual says and see what happens. I bet it's way less sensitive that way. I wonder if Dye did this so everyone thinks their DM11 is running super low pressure lol. "Oh man I'm rockin at 2 turns out!" when in reality that 2 turns is equal to 4 turns pressure wise. Lol.

I had the same exact thing happen a while back with my dm11. Remove 2 small shims and you are good to go. Smoothness on deck with the settings listed above!

Well I just talked to Bryan at Dye and starting with the DM10 they added 2 more small shims to the LPR. So that ends the mystery. Maybe we should go through and update the stickies with some of this new info?

With the lower pressure operation since the DM9, guess they needed to up the recharge rate on the LPRs without remilling bodies. In the end just set it where it needs to be and nothing else matter.
