quest not shooting.

I just got a non working quest for a pretty good price. It has a leak down the barrel (not overly concerned with that at the moment) and it will not cycle.

It has a was board in it. I looked at the manual and the board does not act as the manual says. The gun will not cycle and the solenoid will not click. if I push the button on the solenoid the the gun will cycle but nothing pulling the trigger or hitting the switch with a tool.

there is a resistor on the board that gets extremely hot (as in it burned my finger when i touched it). I am thinking the board is bad but didnt know if there was something that I was missing. any help would be appreciated.

leak down the barrel is most likely an oring issue.
or a lack of output pressure from your hpr.

the hot resistor makes me think the board is messed up but Id rule everything else out first.
sometimes when the noid won't click the issue is in the wires, sometimes they break under the heat shrink right where the wires meet the noid where you cant see it.

the wires were pulled off. I resoldered them to the noid. when the trigger is pushed I get .02 volts going to the solenoid, with a brand new battery. I am thinking that is not enough power.

I would really like to get a virtue for it, even if the board isnt bad, this was board seems to be a horrible design.

It is. Only board for the Quests that's still "semi" easy to find is the Innoviq that Critical was using in their Quests.

If you get it and figure out which version it is, I have the manual for both the Lucky ACE board and the Lucky Spitfire board. Don't know if they made both for the Quest or not, but if they did.

if you get the lucky board you will need lucky eyes as the connectors are different.

dont know if you can tell from the pic but this is the pic I got.

also I would imagine it would be a 3 pin connector with 2 positives and a common and i could just get a standard three pin plugs and combine the grounds into a common and not have to search for eyes. or would that not work? or would dm eyes work?

That's a lucky ace board- the manual is available in another thread.

Not sure exactly how the pins are set up for the eyes but its not a standard molex from what I've been told. I'm sure where there is a will there is a way, prob easier to just buy lucky eyes. I think critical will still make em if you call and ask nicely.
Don't think DM eyes will work but I've never actually tried. Maybe someone else can say with more certainty
