I've played with an eXTCy and had to service one as a rental. We've had some plagued with board and noid issues, not to mention how cheap the eXTCy feels in the hands.
The Proton is the better choice.
Of those two though, I say the G5. There was a Crossover at the field that was a rental, not only did the board suck to program, but the trigger was bouncy in electronic mode and it was just bulky in general. Hell, I'm possibly going to be keeping a G5 as a backup when I sell a couple Spyder projects and a cocker just because they're light, tight, and will work as long as you make sure to put quality lube on the bolt.
