Love those sketches you did. I am by no means nearly as talented as someone as you, i really wish i can pull off those portrait sketches where detail is really not important, but at the same time the subject is totally recognizable, your first sketch is my favorite! I always end up trying to make every detail perfect

Haha, thanks. We cranked out soooo many sketches in that class it was ridiculous. If you have access to a model/ live sessions, the 30 second gesture sketches are what really help the most, imo. I started that course as one of those people who hold the pencil real tight and use short, jerky movements and by the end of the course, I was moving across the page effortlessly and (somewhat) accurately. I'm sure I've lost most everything I gained from that course by now though (out of practice).

Anyhow, since you bumped the thread, here's one of two pieces of a diptych I'm working on for my watercolor course... This is really only my second time watercolor painting, so there's a ton of room for improvement:

Aaaaanndd here's the finished diptych... Beginning to really love watercolor painting as well. Working with these transparencies is really fun.

I'm really terrible at self-portraits, so this was exciting that I finally got a fairly accurate depiction of myself (and my first time trying a watercolor self-portrait too):

Alright, check these photos out... These are for a character portrait assignment I'll get criticism for tomorrow afternoon. Any guesses as to what character/role I was assigned?

Doesn't seem like anyone checks this thread any more, but here's a current work in progress that will be a part of a 7-painting 'book' I'm putting together:

Yeah, I've always kinda wanted a blog, but are there any decent looking blog hosts that are also free? I know they're relatively inexpensive, but I'm so poor right now lol. Thanks for the feedback man, I appreciate it

Anyhow here's another finalized project I finished a couple days ago... It's a book of portraits (the watercolors I've been posting) and a sleeve that holds them all:

Botched the hell out of Geddy Lee's face on that one^

The pages swivel like this:

And here's the case:

Edit: Whoaaa lol. Sorry for the massive pics.
