Bunker Repair question

Hey guys I'm repairing a few bunkers that I got from another field owner I have a few patch kits orderd. Some of the bunkers only need the seams reglued. I was wondering if there was a glue that I could get a a local hardware store to patch them up ( really want to use them for this weekends games), Or should i just wait for the patch kits?

Look for the glue that they use to put down pvc floor tiles is in the plumbing department. I always used that on bunkers apply it let it tack and stick it together. It's light green in color.

If it's the plug, you can change it easily.
If it's the clear cup, it's more difficult but can be done. I can't say for other brands but if it's a Sup'Air bunker, either PM me or email me and i'll help you with that.

I used old destroyed bunkers and cut the nozzles off with about 8 inches of material around it. Then we just glued the new nozzle over the old one. It works great.

That's what you want to have : enough material around it to glue it back to your bunker.
If you don't have old bunkers you can cut off, let us know. We do have factory made nozzle+material in stock.

I've tried a lot of different glues over the years. HH-66, PVC pipe glue, 5 minute epoxy.........none of them really worked as good as the original seams.

With enough care it can work decent. One trick I learned was to cut a patch and put it inside the ripped seam. It's tricky and you need some good flat work space but it can be done. I found that worked the best because when you air the bunker up the air inside actually pushed the patch "closed" so to speak. Or course you still re-seal the original seam at the same time.

Make sure the area you seal is totally dry, clean and you rough it up just a tad with some sandpaper. Then let it set completely before you air it up.

If you get rips in the corners they'll usually break open again pretty quick becausee its' so hard to seal that area cleanly, but thankfully the newer field designs have a lot fewer hard edges in the "shoot zones" which makes things easier.

Hmmmmm someone should call up flex seal. Get them to make bunker colors. They may have an untapped market here lol. I want to see the paintball bunkers in the infomercials.

HH66 works great, I've repaired countless bunkers and it always did the trick.

follow that to a T and you will be golden. It is pretty easy to do, just takes time.

Also, I picked up a can of HH66 off ebay for about $20 and it should be all you will need. I have done around 20-30 patches, glued many seams, and still have plenty left for another fields worth.

If you have to resort to flex seal then your not trying very hard!

HH-66 and patching material is all you need. I cut my patches out of an old bunker. Make sure the bunker is clean I use a degreaser (purple power) make sure it's dry. The key is with you patch give yourself a couple of extra inches around the hole for the glue to stick and NEVER use a square patch!!! Cut the corners so your patch is round. I patch mine while the bunker is aired up it helps keep wrinkles out of the patch so you get a smooth fit and the air inside actually helps the HH-66 dry faster. The glue should only take 5-10 minutes to dry.

I've fixed over 50 bunkers in the last couple years and I've never run into a hole or ripped seam I couldn't fix, with the glue or the tape. The only thing flex seal is good for is making a boat out of a scream door! It would make your bunkers look so trashy

Also sup air now has a clear tape that they sell, that's works really well also but it's kind of expensive 5' roll for 25$ or so.

Love
Brad

not really, i guess just start looking for vinyl cement, and figure out what works for you.

I normally buy mine on ebay, theres only one major shipping company here in gods country that will actually ship it without an extra hazmat fee. so maybe they cant get it too you not sure.

come to a psp event, get the company to send the HH to your hotel room then fly home with it, it will change your life!!

love
Brad

I couldn't find it in Canada either. Lucky I was on the border and ordered some up to my PO box. It did work pretty well.
