Old Cocker found
Hey guys,
This was given to me a while ago (with the pneu's on it)
Pneu's leaked like it was their job, so i bought the pump kit and slapped it on there (had both sitting in my closet for a while, just put the two together yesterday)
The pump kit came without a spring - so i wrapped that one around it. pretty sure it's a cocker main spring from an 04 P/S, but it works just fine lol.
S/N is 1xxx
unfortunately, the IVG is ****ed - I can't get an allen key in there to adjust it.

Because there's no hex left in the IVG or because the beavertail and the cocking rod are in the way?
Aren't some of the older IVGs held in with the beavertail bolt and don't actually turn?

Because the brass inner piece is damaged. There is some hex left, but it seems someone somehow folded the edge over so I can't get the Allen key in it.
This is held in with the beaver tail bolt... Which makes it a pita to deal with.

Do you have any small files that can clean up the brass hex? There will be filings to clean up, but maybe you can save the IVG. Otherwise, if it's too far gone, you can probably remove it with an easy out and get a new one.

Not with me unfortunately.
The ivg assembly pops out just fine, so the sniper is usable. But, the brass tension adjuster is whats goofed, meaning there is no adjustability of the spring tension.
Just wanted to clear that up
Does anyone know anything about the age or anything?

I confess that all my 'cockers are 2K and up. I know the early bodies are not threaded. There must be a "sleeve" with threads inside and the brass adjuster turns in and out of that. I still say clean up with small files. No Home Depot type places around you?
As a last resort I might remove the IVG, set it on the bench and hammer an allen key into the brass screw. Last resort, mind you.
I did find a picture of what you're dealing with. Slow and steady wins the race.

I think the body is pre '97, but again, I don't have any of the older ones.

I found a link that dates it as an '89..
Does this have any validity to it?

That dates autocockers first on top, yours is a minicocker. Scroll down and it shows mini's first being offfered in 93'. Heres whats added for 96' Mini's:
"1996
Ball detent standard from Cooper-T
anonym: "Everything Pre-97 was a "glossy" black anodizing."
anonym: "Bud upgraded the old skinny LPR to his new "self-regulating Sledgehammer" LPR (the one that was replaced in 2K).

Thanks for that. Depressing to gear that... Looks like I didn't read enough lol.
The ivg I haven't looked at much. In university. No time.

I'm going to have to dig into this more when I actually have it in front of me. It has the top timing hole (hoping I can get my shroud back from a friend...) but I don't recognize some of the other things they are saying, so it's possible it's a conversion... idk.

Well keep me posted. PM is OK if you want. I did hear that some people had the hole in the sight rail added so they could raise and lower the sear easier. The problem with cockers, (or the best part in my opinion) is how much you can do to them. It should shoot great when you're done. I just finished a spare parts special and had my best day paintballing ever.
