I think anything other than the recommended lube can void the warranty. However, Lurker Lube won't do anything to the gun or orings that would be noticeable, so you could just cheap off all the Lurker Lube before you send it in and be okay. It's not like Dow55 that will swell oring or anything else.

Picked up some super lube at an Ace hardware store. It worked awesome! Had the leak on airing up but one shot stopped it every time.
Shooting valken graffiti I was about 70/165 shooting 285 +/- 5
This thing is so smoooooooth!!

So it truly is comparable to other high end spool valve guns like a Luxe or DM? I'm trying to get an idea of it's feel before I drop $170 on one. I could buy a used Protege for a little more just to mess around with so I guess I'm trying to justify the price (even though $170 is cheap for what ya get).

wish I could comment but i haven't shot either high end spools.
There's definitely a big difference between the stock inline poppet and this spool engine though. I tried to make a shooting video but the built in gopro mic sucks. I might make one once my external mic comes in next week.

As smooth as a clone gt, smoother than my luxes. Definitely worth the money.

i don't feel a luxe is a high end spool gun. It's more like a high dollar spool gun. too me they shoot just like an NXT. I would love to see more comparisons up against a DM as they both have LPR's and the DM's have always been the smoothest spools.

As smooth if not smoother then my bw dm12 and noticably quieter. At 50 feet shooting a stream of paint the size of a Dixie cup... Hard to beat.

Most Luxes I've shot have been very smooth. I think it has to do with their ergonomics compared to the NXT. If this engine is as smooth as a Luxe that's smooth enough for me. That would impress me more than a DM13 or whatever, because they are just a PM7 to me.

On a side note, does anybody in here have a victory pressure tester for sale? I'm not looking to spend $50 on a new one and the v com doesn't come with one.

id say the vcom is.....the luxe just has more of an airy sound to it. While the vcom is similar to the gt just a tad quieter.
Source-ive shot and owned all 3
