Talking Got my Mini back after almost 12 years!

Hey guys, Just wanted to share a little story. My friends and I were heavy players in the late 90's. I bought a 98' Minicocker that took me all summer to pay off. I loved that gun and added the few upgrades I could for a poor teen at the time. A few years later (2001) when I was in highschool I wasn't playing much and in need of cash I sold it back to the shop owner I obtained it from. Never to see the gun again.

Fast forward to last week and my friend sent me a posting to a craigslist ad and low and behold my cocker was pictured with tons of other gear from none other than the guy I sold the cocker to 11 years before! He was selling off what hadn't been robbed from his shop, basically the stuff in the back that he still played with at the time, as he hadn't been in business for some time now. My buddy contacted him and bought the whole lot and he straight gave me my mini back! It looked fairly bad, old molding chopped balls, the bolt wouldn't budge. The last guy to use it obviously didn't clean it when they put it away so it sat for years like this in a barn.

The good news..Its a freaking cocker! The little beast cleaned right up and the bolt was scrubbed with a slightly abrasive scrub pad due to years of sitting covered in paint but it polished right up. I still have a lot to do and its still in pieces but I need a valve tool to tear it down and see what it looks like. I need a new IVG as the old brass one was striped by what looks like a bur in the thread where the beaver tail and IVG threads meet. I have some plans to continue with my KAPP parts but I want it to stay old school.

Thanks for reading guys and of course a few pics.
My 98 mini in pieces for now. I'll update the thread as I go.

Thanks, and I truly never thought I'd see it again. I was stunned to say the least. It's never going to be sold off ever again.

Thanks! Yes, that's an old school Stainless Steel All American.

I put it back together today and to take a pic with my BL Millenium. The only two guns I need.

congrats!

and by the way a valve tool is over rated. new trick i learned this last month with my dive into autococker full repair, is to take the cocking rod back off (provided its a original 6 point one) and with a 5/16 socket and a ratchet you have your own valve tool

My old mini

This was my first cocker. I was 14 or so and did all of the milling with a drill, file and hacksaw. Looks bad now but at the time, I was quite proud of it. Anywho, I sold it to UTThomas when I was 16 or so and haven't seen it since. If anyone ever finds it, let me know; I'd love to see it again.
