Not really. The smartest thing they never should have done was release EoC.
And the whole shpeel about not having backups of the older versions of the game? ****ing trash
- why can't we have the 2012 version back? You're telling me that Jagex Ltd. doesn't have backups of the game that gives them a large majority of their funds? Bool****. Not even a backup of 2012; something super recent? Horse ****.
I would personally have liked the version of the game THE DAY BEFORE EoC released because EoC killed it for just about most loyal players. (As a casual player, EoC honestly upset me.) This isn't the RS we grew up with. It's turning into something like WoW, which is why people play(ed) it [rs] in the first place; more laid back, less buttons and things to worry about, and for a majority of people, cheaper.
If you're looking to do more complex things in-game, then go against some of the harder bosses that have more complex programming and abilities.

The whole game is a grind. Some of the newer quests are actually quite long, annoying, and to many; difficult.
I always forget the actual math, but if you're training a skill to 99, you're only half way there
when you reach level 94
in that skill. Tell me that getting that last few million experience isn't tough; because most people find it to be a ***** lol.

big dot here. With the release of EoC, many of the veteran players (people playing since RS1) quit because the game wasn't what it was supposed to be. It just wasn't RS anymore.
EoC and some of their other endeavors (along with real life responsibilities) is the reason I'm a more casual player now. I don't set my self any in-game goals anymore, like completing a set of tasks or training a certain skill; I do whatever I feel like doing. If I don't feel like playing, I'll waste my life on this website, facebook, and other places lol. (or play Xbox.)
But as an older teenager now (I'm 17) I have more responsibilities than when I was 12. I'm a senior in high school now, I work part-time, I go the gym, and participate in a youth group.
If I get home late, I don't grimace at the thought of not playing, or what I missed/could have done. I'll go to sleep and continue on with my life. If I play, I play; no biggee.
