For a hardware issue, sadly there is still no technology that allows a computer company to fix that over the phone. You might also be surprised that AppleCare has the highest customer satisfaction rating of any other computer company for the past 11 (12?) years according to Consumer Reports.
But, this thread's not about me. I stand by my first post. Don't go into debt at 18 over a computer. Either get a part-time job, preferably one for Apple where you can get your computer of your dreams for a good price, or just buy a PC til you can afford the perfect mac.
