NT vs DM

Which do most people like better and why? What is the big difference in the two guns?

DM. The NT's were just not up to caliber in my opinion.

Alright, I've noticed there isn't a large price difference between them. But what is the primary difference in the two?

DMs work, NTs don't. I mean that quite literally.

Bull. Own both! DM a bit smoother can tune finer with LPR. NT's have efficiency over DM's up to 12. Don't know about 13's though.

As far as working never had a problem with either of 2 NT 11's ..........NEVER! Maintenance is the key for NT's clean and lube after a trip to field and no problems!

I never had a problem with either of my 2 NTs and I'd definitely take one over an older DM.

I think DM9+ becomes more of a fight. NTs are shorter and feel really, really good in the hands but the DM will have a smoother shot. (an older DM will have a smoother shot as well but they are bigger and I like the way the NT feels more).

Thank you! I don't where all the hate for NT's comes from?

The NT got a lot of hate because of the spacers and bolt tip spacers, the wrong combo of either one and pressure caused the gun to shoot funny, if people followed the suggested settings the NT was a solid shooter with pretty good efficiency. The NT was also a smaller profile marker because it didn't have lpr. But if your looking for the smoother shot and don't care much for efficiency then the DM would be a better choice.

I'd probably take a DM. I've been looking for the right nt for a while and haven't come across it yet. They are nice shooting markers and about everyone says they feel awesome in hand. They get a bad rep for a couple reasons. One, its a bit more complex than the standard DM line. There is more going on. With the DM, you adjust LPR for bolt function, set dwell to stock, and adjust velocity with the HPR. Pretty simple, pretty easy. The NT has more going on than that. Pressures need to be right and spacer combos need to be right. Since everything runs off one pressure it is more critical. Not impossible by any means, but certainly more complex.

Then comes the issue of the spacers themselves. Great idea. Great execution. Dumb end users. Bad results. The spacers add too many variables for a lot users that don't spend a lot of time tinkering and learning how exactly their marker works. Had they picked one combo and ran I think it would have been a lesser option but easier for the bulk of the user base.

The NT does seem a bit complicated for the sake of doing something different. At the right price though they are certainly an interesting marker to own that will feel great.

The early ones had problems that were fixed with updated parts from Dye. That and the spacer system wasn't very well explained so people were doing all sorts of weird stuff with the spacers and pressures and wondering why their guns shot poorly.

I ran mine without using any of the spacers and didn't touch the regs any more than I had to. If you didn't mess with them they were fine but had a fairly narrow range of pressure where they would work at and going above or below that tended to cause problems. If you buy an NT, get the reg set, don't use the spacers and just let it be and I'd be surprised if you had problems.
