Spacers + BPS + Consistency for a Geo2

Hey guys,
Not to sure what they're called, but the spacers which you can put on the bolt guide (two very thick black rubber bumpers is the best description I can give), what are they for?

I was told it's better to use when you're going to play with reball because you can bring your pressure down and keep it more consistent. I did get that, it jumped about 250 +-2 fps, which I've never seen before (stock dwell).

However, the drawback with that is that the BPS dropped by 3-4. How come? Is it choking something? FYI, I was using both spacers.

Later on, I just tried one of the spacers in. FPS was more erratic, and the BPS count was still less.

I took out both spacers and the BPS came back up to 10.5bps, but then the fps went all over the place +-20 fps. I know the importance of matching up ball and bore size, but that is just ridiculous.

I even played with the dwell. Just playing around, I took it down to 9ms, and it was working just fine (even at 30bps, not problems) but still fluctuating a fair bit.

Brought up the dwell past stock to see what would happen (can't remember exactly how much, but it was past 12.5ms, probably around 13-14ms). Still, fps is jumping around like a Mexican jumping bean.

Also, I would like to note that whenever I adjusted the dwell, I also adjusted the velocity screw to keep it around 250 fps (because it's a reball).

So, any ideas as to what is going on or what to do? And I lubed the bolt, but not the reg during that practice.

The black spacers are to lower your Velocity so you can play indoors/reball where a lower velocity is required. The inconsistency in FPS...clean and lube your regulator. Set your dwell back to stock, or whatever you had it at before.

I'll do that, but for arguments sake, what else should I try (if that doesn't help)?

And why do the black spacers drop my bps?

Edit: And thanks for the tip!

Try replacing the battery to help with the inconsistency.....always a good starting point. As far as dropping the bps with the spaces they are limiting the air flow thus limiting the cycle speed....never used the spacers so not going off experience just going off what I know
