I was in the same boat as you about a week or two ago and I got a 1.0 with 2.0 internals, and I was able to use it at a tourney this weekend and lets just say that I was blown away by how smooth and quiet the luxe was. I also have a Clone GT with a fitted oring kit and I rebuilt the luxe using the viton and poly orings. It did take a little bit to break those in but no it rips, and I am very happy with it.

Couple cons about it would be it is longer than most markers but that is more personal taste. (i'm a back guy so longer is better ) also it is a gas hog, I use a 72ci tank with ninja pro reg set at 525 psi output and I could get about 7-8 pods from a full fill (this is my best guess I was shooting about 4 pods a game on about 2000 psi.

hope this helps.

I wouldn't say Luxes are gas hog's. I've owned numerous Luxes that easily shot 9-11 pods off a 68ci tank that was filled to ~4000 psi.

Pro's:
Smooth
Quiet
Great customer service
No need to upgrade
Great barrel/accuracy
Easy to maintain
Very ergonomic in the hands
Reliability
Only one regulator to worry about (no LPR)
Programming is a breeze
Most newly released parts/updates are backwards compatible

Con's:
That's a good question...
Some people may prefer a poppit
Some people may prefer a marker not as long
1.0 eye cover's didn't reliably stay on

The sound signature is the only thing I can comment on. Some people really don't like it. Some people do. Overall, I love the feel, length, sound, and so forth. Of all my teammates who've shot my gun and for all the "feel" testing swapping guns back and forth at the end of the day, the luxe is still my favorite. The only complaints I hear about it are the sound signature of the gun when it's shooting. Some people really don't like it. The only gun I felt was quieter than my Luxe is my teammates VX.

Also, some people have issues with 1.0 eye covers popping off. This is caused by an O-ring that is either not correctly seated or broken allowing excessive air down the barrel. This is easily addressed. My 1.0 I bought used had 1.5 eye covers already. I'm going to tap the body like a 1.5 so I can screw them down. I dropped a 2.0 board and 2.0 core in it and it shoots fantastic. They also hold their value incredibly well because of it.

Imo
Pros: sexy/elegant
Comfortable although I wouldn't have said that when they first came out because it was new. First company no targeting the smallest lightest gun but instead quality and innovation
Great board stock 1.0-2.0
The no macro is nicer than you would think
Bolt is reliable but I would pick up 2.0 powercore immediately
Efficiency is competitive
Barrel is equipped to handle a full barrel insert kit
Eyes are fine
Trigger is fine and really customizable
Feedneck is good

Cons
Expensive gun but you probably wont regret it
Thats all the cons I can think of

I disagree, BUT, it's not as user friendly in the cold. It needs to be tuned for the cold. Kind of like tuning a car differently for different temperatures or fuels, etc.

I have had 2 1.0s that I run the same settings all year around on without issue. FT In, Dwell of 16, FSDO stock, and manifold tuned for 12.5.

I think it depends on how on the edge you have the gun tuned. I run dwell much less than 16 successfully, but I have to up it a little when I play in the cold. That is one negative about New England.. You have to prepare for every climate. The season starts at about 35 degrees, goes to 110 at times in the summer, then back to 35 degrees by the end of the season.

I was playing in 28 degee weather with my Luxe last weekend. Worked perfectly. Dwell at 16, FSDO at 20, FT in, Manifold flush and a little extra Lurker lube than normal.

So really the con's for a Luxe was just personal preference issues like length and sound?

I didn't care for the length or the fact that it talks.

However, everything else about it is perfect so I picked up another. This one though has a virtue board in it so that got rid of the annoying voice (to me) and now has a oled. Also with a pooty core, it shoots amazing. I also picked up a shorter tank to reduce that length.

The Luxe is a top tier marker and it shoots great like any top tier marker. I can tell you why I choose to own it over other top tier markers.

1. I think it has the best ergonomics in paintball. I love the reg grip, I love the frame and I love how single tube markers feel.
2. It's incredibly gentle on paint.
3. It might sound silly, but I strongly prefer the impulse threading. It doesn't bind or loosen up while shooting. It takes so few turns to take the barrel on and off that you can remove your barrel to swab it mid game and be back up super quick. The Luxe is super gentle on paint but I spend half the year playing in cold weather. Occasional breaks are just part of playing in sub 40 degree weather.
4. DLX has great customer service.
5. EDIT - I forgot that I like the rechargeable battery so I don't have to worry about 9V. I just charge it once a month of so.

Be aware the Luxe is a spool valve marker so you can't expect G6R efficiency. Spool valve also means regular lubing and occasional oring swaps, but IMO it's worth it.

I use to own a splash luxe 2.0. Probably the smoothest marker I've owned. Don't really need any upgrades. Only upgrade I thought was needed was for a snap on screw or a new trigger.

Anyways the only thing I hated about it was the weight. I guess I was so use to PE markers and how light they were.

You can turn the voice off pretty easily, you know.

Impulse threads are far superior to Autococker threads. Use the stock barrel with the luxe, you don't need anything aftermarket for the luxe it shoots ropes right out of the box.

Yes it is a good marker.
I am still very happy with mine. The feel of the marker is great.

Some might gripe that:
- For the money there is no screen.
- It can be finicky in cold weather.
- It is not as simple as a Poppet to fix.
- It is not as good on air as a poppet.

However those are more then balanced by:
+Ergonimically the gun and trigger are off the charts.
+Smoothness of shot is fantastic.
+The marker is pretty tuneable for an LPR-less spool due to the Feather touch screw.
+The build quality means that you won't be tearing up O-rings or having other issues.

I will say that out of the box my 1.5 shot so much better then any other marker I had shot at the time that it floored me.

I will also say that before you drop that kind of coin on any marker, shoot a bunch of the options in your price range first. There is a bunch of markers that are built very well at this price range, so shoot what you are looking to buy prior to purchase, as some of this is all personal taste. And when you shoot a marker to test try and make sure it is someone that takes care of their gear about the same as you. No sense shooting an ill-maintained marker that shoots like crap and leaks because it's never been cleaned and been thrown through a sandstorm.

Most of all Good luck!!
