Looks like Bart might cut his losses and run so to speak. If he is a major money backer behind the NPPL then that leauge might be in trouble. I don't know if the NPPL will go under. Theirs a nitch in the US for seven man. The NPPL is loosing their pro status so if they approach the PSP for a merger they are now in a weaker bargaining position today then they were last fall.

NPPL should've taken the PSP's offer while they had the chance. There's no reason for the PSP to merge with the NPPL now; NPPL has nothing the PSP wants at this point.

They have venues and name-branding

Money gets you venues. When it comes to name-branding PSP is significantly stronger among the player base.

I would argue that the PSP has consistently better venues. At least for the players sake. The only venue the NPPL has that might be better is HB, and again, as a player, and competitor, HB brings nothing of value as far as actually playing the game. I'd rather not play on turf over sand, I'll take real grass fields over that every time.

As far as name branding goes…like the previous poster said, that would require the NPPL to actually have a better brand and reputation. As far as I can tell, the general consensus seems to be that the PSP (and PBA) has a better brand and reputation than the NPPL. The NPPL's aura of celebrity players and matches, and high-end, prestigious stadium venues has worn off to seem like nothing more than a gimmick or novelty.

I fail to see anything the NPPL has to offer, except for possible valuable contacts for marketing to entities outside of the paintball industry. Any value in those contacts is also depreciating with time, as the PSP and PBA get larger and more successful.

Venues? Like the ones with paper-thin turf over parking lot asphalt (Vegas), or the same paper-thin turf over beach sand (HB)?

As a player, give me a well-kept grass field any day. The NPPL's venues are more of a gimmick/novelty than anything else.

As was already stated, PSP/PBA has a way stronger brand now. The NPPL's brand has become synonymous with bad management, media-banning 3-year old temper tantrums and spotty format changes.

They are playing PSP. I find it kind of wierd that they are not playing NPPL as it is one of the reasons Jrab left Damage to join them
