After a full season of tournament play and a bunch of woods games, I have started to use other guns over my Indy. I love the Indy, but I try to give my other guns some time to shine. Lately I have been running my Supercharged Closer and my Luxe. Both guns work fantastic... well most of the time.
Today I was shooting my luxe, as was my teammate with his luxe. We both experienced odd bolt stick. Our first shot was good but the second shot felt funny. We didnt trust our guns so I switched to my Closer and he grabbed his Ego. To make a long story short, the closer would not crono up past 230fps
and my teammate went back to his luxe because he felt the Ego "shoots like a cannon".
So, I grabbed my other teammates spare G6R, I have tuned this gun my self. I feel it shoots VERY nice. After cronoing and playing a game with the G6, I was feeling pretty good. I pulled out my Indy and set it up for my luxe buddy to use. First three shots over the crono - 281, 284, 281 in 15* michigan weather. Not only did it just work after not being used in forever.. It was shooting consistent and softer than the G6R I was using.
I asked my teammate how he felt about it after he played a game.
- Softer than his other stack tube guns, not as soft as his luxe but it was good enough to satisfy
- awesome trigger, no issues getting used to it
- perfect gap between the trigger guard and reg, great for gun fighting.
We finished the day no problem. At the end, my G6R acquired a small rammer leak. Turns out the front oring on the ram had dirt buildup, just enough to make it leak. The Indy has never given me that issue, likely because it has a sealed rammer
I learned to appreciate my Indy much more today. It can be ignored and beaten but it will still just work. I often get asked why im keeping a 09 gun around when I have all these other guns coming in and out (Luxe, G6R, closer, Clone, Victory, etc)
My answer - It always works, it has an awesome trigger, it fits my hands perfect, its not loud, its efficient, its soft. None of my other guns have all those characteristics in stock form.
I look forward to the new Alien gun. Jack, dont out do your self. No need to get too far ahead of the competition.
