DM12 or 2012 G6R

Basically between the two.

I owned a DM8, and still to this day it was my favourite marker. I never shot a G6R though, and I've only heard good things about them.

Both would be bought brand new. Help me out lol.

Personal preference lol. Go and shoot them both. For me, the G6R does the job. Smooth, efficient, very reliable.

dm12 is probably going to shoot like any other dm since its been the same for all these years and for good reason they shoot damn smooth.

g6r is a great poppit gun. it is small, light, and very efficient with little kick.

have you shot a victory? you get the best of both worlds honestly. you get an extremely smooth shooting poppit marker that is a single tube design. plus now you can get the spool engine for an even smoother shot.

This is really a spool vs poppet question. Shoot which ever you prefer. I have owned 5 g6rs and loved them all but I seems to always go back to a spool, I just prefer the shot much more. With that being said, I don't think there's a gun out there that shoots better than a tuned and broken in dm. As for buying new, I know it's a great feeling but you buy a new dm12 and open up package it's instantly worth about 600-650. That's really with all new guns but I'm just saying. I would also wait for pbe and see what's coming out.

I know this is spool vs poppet, but I honestly cant decide. I love how the DM shoots, but I know Dye marker have alot of problems with their guns. Is Bob Long the same way. If so I might just invest in a Geo 3 or Luxe..

Lol dude... almost all stories of problematic guns is due to inept owners. (Not quite all, but most.) I shot DMs almost exclusively for ~5-6 years, owned ~25 in that time, and never had major issues with any of them. Lube them, learn how to set your LPR correctly and know what each of the orings do. That way to can fix it in a matter of minutes.

Maintaining a G6R is the same as maintaining an Ego, you just have to check your pressures with a pressure tester before a day of play, which is super simple.

Luxes have more reliability issues than DMs too.

Neither have alot of problems. Each require tuning for max performance. Jack with settings without knowing what you are doing and expect miraculous results?

dye markers don't have a lot of problems. if they did they would have fixed them over all these years. they shoot great.

i've always been a spool valve fan and up until I got my victory that's what I always went back to. the victory shoots extremely smooth and gets great efficiency. I ran an efficiency test last month and got 1800 shots off of a 68/4500 filled to 4200psi with outside temp at 40 degrees.

best thing now is the Victory Spool Engine is out and it supposedly shoots smoother than the poppit engine so that would put it in the luxe/clone class.
