ive had a caad10 "105" for a awhile now. Ive been thinking about get a endurance road bike for a more relaxed riding position. should i trade the caad10 in on one "not sure which one yet" or just buy a frame and sale the caad frame ? im just a weekend rider.

Why not just keep the CAAD 10 as your beater/bad weather bike and invest in a nicer carbon fiber bike with some nice components?

^ what he said. The CAAD10 is an awesome bike. I've thought about getting rid of my Allez quite a few times, but what would be the point?
The rule is N+1

If all you want is a different position you might be able to get away with just swapping out the stem. If your fit is really that far off from where you want it then I don't think you should compromise. But yes generally I think it is a better idea financially to sell the bike whole and buy an entire new one. Unless you know exactly what parts you need and have the tools (and skill) to build a bike up from a frame it will cost you extra to have a mechanic do it.

Ive built two steel frame bikes before, just wasn't sure if id be blowing money for just a frame. im 5'11+ (with shoes on im 6ft) , the caad10 is a 56 has a basic fit done local high end shop. The stem is the c3 100 *6

They're called Swiftwick http://www.swiftwick.com/cycling-socks-13-ctg.htm

A few teams over here are sponsored by them. I would never spend that much on socks, but they are really really good.

Just a note for all of you riders. I have a bike shop and am always looking to trade bike stuff for paintball stuff. If you are looking for anything, let me know; Im sure we could work something out. I ALWAYS have extra forks from damaged frames sitting around. As for a beater bike, Giant came out with the TCR SL 2. I ran one in a few crits and for an aluminum bike, it's nice.

ironically enough I was looking to sell my entire gearbag of stuff...I've got guns, barrels, tanks, hoppers, more pants, jerseys and gear than I could shake a stick at...I'm not sure if I would need any used gear....I'm always in need of some nice bib shorts, jerseys, and I would like to get that new giro air atack helmet....

on a different note, I signed up/joined the strava & specialized classics challenge...have to ride the combined lenght of all the classics ie; roubaix, flanders, liege bastogne, amstel gold, etc in the month of april...it's right around 830 miles1300 kilometers. I took like 18 days of leave in April before I knew about this so I'm pretty stoked to do this...makes putting in long miles a bit more fun.

Signed up for my first sprint triathlon April 6th......Might I add I learned how to swim at the beginning of the month. Thankfully I can bike and run pretty well and that it is only 300m swim.

Hi everyone. Long time no post. Just picked up a practically new Caad9 1 for $1k. I'm excited to get it out on the road and compare it to my Fuji!

So the Caad I just got came with a standard crankset. The crankset is nice enough (FSA SL-K Light), but with all the hills around here a compact crankset makes more sense. I'm thinking of just going with something from SRAM, but I was wondering if you guys have any other recommendations? FYI, I need something in bb30.

2010/2011 red cranks should be decently priced

You just need one of those high paying D.C. jobs and you would be set

So my plan to start riding home three days a week has been foiled by the weather. I'm not too keen on hauling my bike to work when there's a 70 percent chance of rain and temps in the 40's
