SC'd V1 Vic still having efficiency issues... thoughts?
All right, I've fiddled, and rebuilt, and retuned, and relubed, and switched to SLP instead of regular LP and my Vic still isn't giving me anything in terms of efficiency.
I'm lucky to get a hopper and 4 pods off of a 4000+ fill on a 45/45. I switched to a 68 tank and it ate up well over 500psi to go through one hopper. This gun is sick, and I either need to find a cure or find something that works.
Everything inside appears to be in order, BUT, last week I did a full tear down and rebuild, changed all o-rings, cleaned and lubed both regs, fresh DOW55 all over. When I plugged in my pressure tester, I noticed that the LPR pressure wasn't stable at all. I'd set it at 80, and the needle on the tester would fluctuate between the 80psi tick mark and marks on either side. I believe the ticks on the LPR gauge are 8psi variation, so that means the LPR seems to be randomly creeping between 72 and 88psi.
Is this something that I should expect to see with the tester installed, or will the issue persist with the bolt-engine installed? My first thought is that it indicates that one of my regs is hosed. Is there something I can do about it myself, or is a trip to BLAST in my gun's immediate future?

the gauge should not be moving like that. is it moving if you just let it sit or is it moving whenever you fire with the tester in?

It's moving while sitting. I thought it might be the seal between the tester and the body of the marker at first.
Is there a reason for me to be cycling with the tester in?

Usually you do that when you are changing the settings. When you adjust one of the regs, you fire a few "clearing shots" so the pressure is shown to what you actually set it to.
Regardless, that would not be the reason why your so inefficient. The Vic I have, gets about 3 pods and a hopper to around 1k (rough estimate). I would call blast and see what they say.

Try and put more lube in the lpr body and make sure the lpr is seated the right way. Hopefully that will help

sounds like a bad schrader in the lpr.
if you know what you are doing you can remove it and replace it.
if you are in a pinch you can remove and inspect/replace/relube the orings on the schrader but this is not a recommend course of action
if you dont feel comfortable doing any of that just send it in- or call and just order a completely new lpr assembly its only a couple of bucks to completely replace.

Haha, my thread is back from the dead. Which I guess is all right since my problem isn't yet solved.
I got back on the phone with BLAST and talked to a tech, he told me to take a look at my blast guide to inspect it for wear as a potential problem. There was wear, it was significant, so I replaced the blast guide this week. I'll take it to the field and test/tune this weekend.
I told the guy at BLAST if the new blast guide wasn't the right fix I was going to send it in, and that I didn't expect it back until everything was working 100%, I hope that's not necessary, but we'll see.

Had the same problem with the LPR. Slowly creeping pressure from 75psi to 80psi.
Today I inspected the Schrader valve. Too much grease on that tiny o-ring.
After cleaning the Schrader I have a constant LPR pressure.

Back from the dead! How do you get to the Schrader valve. It's pretty deep in the lpr

Take apart the LPR?
Once you get the piston out, it's right there. Getting it out, not sure if it'd work, but you might be able to get a schrader valve tool meant for tire valve stems and see if that will work for you.

use a deep well socket that just barely fits, then while turning pull socket to one side so its at a slight angle. as long as the last person didn't overtighten it shoudl coem out fairly easily. theres an oring on the lpr shrader, not the hpr shrader. There is also a rubber, non-replaceable seal on the shrader itself, don't mess with it other then cleaning it, if it's nicked/cut/worn you will have to replace it.

Did the blast guide fix it?

The blast guide helped, but was not a complete cure. There was a noticeable difference in the character of the shot with the new blast guide installed, so that was part of it. It still hasn't really come around with the sort of numbers that I've heard it should get though.
