Problems with my new demon avalanche, please help!
Picked up a demon avalanche. Brought it out on the field and it shot maybe 20 balls, then the velocity plummeted and the air was barely going through the gun. Happened twice so I couldn't even use the gun. Balls were just rolling out of the end of the barrel. Then it wouldn't even shoot at all. Anyone have any solutions? The owners of the paintball place told me to stay clear of a demon but I really like the marker so I'm trying to make it work. Thanks

Sounds like you need a QEV change. They can randomly go bad and cause that problem. Put in a new one, even if the old one looks fine. Make sure the new one is dry and clean, no lube.
This is a common problem with the older guns that are second hand. Guys just don't know what the problem is, so they get rid of them.
It's also possible your dwell is just too low for colder weather. I'm betting it's the QEV though.
If you can afford it, I would get the 2013 upgrades. It eliminates the QEV totally.

quick exhaust valve. It's located in the manifold assembly and the 2012 demons were notorious for them going bad. It's a small black diaphragm.

Like Mstrkey said above they fail randomly. The best fix for this problem is to get your gun updated to 2013 specs and then they use a mechanical QEV on the firing can, which never has a problem.

How do you fix the QEV, can I just change the 2 oring on the QEV or the whole QEV? I might have a bad QEV too, but Im just waiting for Frank to get back to get my gun upgraded.

Inspect the o-rings and replace the diaphragm. Make sure there isn't any debris in the housing and replace the diaphragm dry with no lube with it sitting nice and flush in the manifold. It's the same QEV that the ego 8 uses. You usually can't see a bad QEV with the naked eye, unless it's torn or dirty.
What exactly is your marker doing?

The shot would drop off in the middle of ramping, started puffing and would chopped balls in the barrel. Shoots fine when I shoot it in the chrono averaging 280. I have it for over a year with no problem. Just last weekend I played it started having this problem and I have to used my other gun to finish the game.

The puffing and shot drop-off is a characteristic of a bad QEV. The chopping could also be the qev because the bolt isn't cycling correctly. I imagine that it will fix alot of your problems you are having.

although checking a QEV seems like it should be enough, if youre having the issue I would replace it.

I have to agree. I had a problem, checked the QEV and it looked fine. Didn't get the problem fixed til I replaced the QEV anyways.

Like everyone is saying, The qev was the major issue with the 2011-2012 demon. Upgrade to the 2013 internals to eliminate issue or just replace the qev's when you have the issue

are you unscrewing it? There is a grub screw in there that stops you over pressurising. If you are finding it is at max and not chronoing anymore, loosen that grub screw a little. You should set your marker to 320fps, then screw the grub in until it stops, then lower the velocity to desired fps.
This will mean you will never over pressurise your marker.

Check the threads on the velocity adjuster and make sure they're not damaged. A lot of times people tighten the set screw too tight and damage the threads making the velocity adjuster no work properly.
