There is oilslick, which is a paintjob Dye did very similar to aurora.

Aurora is a coating technique that Planet Eclipse used that was a brighter color.

Example of oilslick:

Example of aurora:

Oilslick is just a paintjob and it's not too hard to find someone to do it, think automotive paint people. Aurora takes a very expensive system to do it and I believe there is a company that offers it in the B/S/T.

Hope this helps.

Aurora is also basically a huge ****-up in an annodizing process and having it done increases the risk that the part will actually be ruined.

The whole aurora effect was kind of discovered on accident.

I'm not sure where you learned anything about aurora...

Aurora is not any sort of anno and it doesn't increase the risk that the part will be ruined. It's a certain type of electroplating that most definitely was NOT discovered on accident during any anno process (especially considering it's not an anno).

.

its actually a very exact science on voltage through the aluminum, when they first started doing "aurora" there was a 1-10 failure rate, which lead to no one willing to do it
