Indian Creek fs8 vs G4/G5
Hey after a previous thread I've made about buying 1K+ guns vs mid range, I have decided to stick with some older models of guns. ICD is one of my favorite marker brands, loved my promaster and regret selling it, so now I am thinking of getting an FS8 in mint condition (minus regulator, need new one), or getting a new g5 or g4.
Which would you take and why? Don't pick g's just because of the rarity of parts for the FS8, I can take care of that.

In my opinion, I'd say a TechT'd G5. The efficiency is amazing, any basic feats of maintaining it are easy and any in-depth maintenance is covered in the manual and also easy. You also get up to date components and an overall lighter marker.
I can also say that after hearing people bashing on DP's CS I have yet to see proof even in my own encounters with them that it's "terrible CS". They'll get you taken care of, but it might take two days instead of one.
EDIT: If you don't plan on putting a TechT engine into a G4/5, then I'd suggest the FS8.

If you're a self-reliant gun tech then the FS8. Otherwise I'd say G5.

Can't really say self reliant but I am good at forum searching for fixes

The FS markers in general are pretty particular on pressure tuning and finding parts for them is a beast. I would suggest a quest if you're looking for a unique older gat and critical paintball still has parts for them.
Btw, the reason I comment is because I've been in the sport for over 15 years (I started young) and have shot or owned hundreds of markers.

In that case I appreciate your input on my threads
ICD was my first "Omg I love this" gun so I'd really like to get a hold of them again.

Sad to say, but Freestyle. While they (somewhat wrongly) got a reputation for unreliability, they're amazing shooting markers. Will blow the noids off a G3/4/5 by a long way.

I don't find the reputation ill afforded because as a general rule icd was plagued with tolerance and consistency issues much like dp. When they shot they worked very well but the STP lpr and a new hpr is pretty much a requirement.

BTW the FS8 I am thinking of getting comes with a 10x o-ring rebuild kit, pretty sure some o-rings are gone by now but pic shows plenty of each in all slots of the kit.

Loved my FS8. It was quieter than my dm6 with similar shot quality. I've had b2ks, gen 1, 2 freestyles before and the one issue I had with these is the small trigger guard. It is not 6'3" ape finger friendly. The quest had no where near the sound or shot quality, but trigger was sweet.
The frame size and fsdo were the only things to flaw that fine FS8. The older ones needed some tinkering skills. The 8 was as simple as a matrix to rebuild and lube. Stock regs on icd markers can be made consistent by drilling a couple simple holes.

I think there are better options for the $$ than either, but if your dead set on these then reread post #3.
