Id definitely go with the gego way better than the ego and smoother than a geo, made by the same company just as reliable super nice marker

Bolded is wrong.
IMO, a Geo/+ shoots like an Ego 11, but otherwise it's down to do you want a smoother shot for less efficiency or greatly improved efficiency except with a worse shot?

I prefer the Ego. Reliability, lower maintenance, higher efficiency.
Spools require maintenance a lot more often, they are more finicky with the amount of lube you use(too much/little=bad) and their performance dips quicker/more severely between servicing. You can go a LONG time on an ego without performing maintenance and the worst you'll get is a larger fps spread over the chrono. Plus, I hate fsdo. HATE it. I do miss the smoothness of spools though. Macdev has been making it hard to not to go back...

I love both. I have owned an ego for the past several years and it shoots darts and is super smooth. So I tried the geo as well just for fun; likewise they are great markers to shoot. Not as efficient, but that is expected with spool guns. Plus they are a bit quieter which is perfect when playing tournament ball.

Owned both spool and poppet.
The big plus I have to say about about a poppet is, when I bust a ball in the breech, the bolts pulls out quick so I can squeegie the paint out. On a spool, not that easily.

Personal preference.
Both are good, reliable markers.

Good question! Geo 3 really is an awesome marker, but just finished a trade for an Ego 11. Try both and you will come to your own conclusion. I personally believe that only way to truly answer your question is to own both and try on the field. Try one trade try the other then trade back if necessary! Unless you have a bank of cash then just buy both!
