Wildwayz, does the qev diaphragm need to be lubed before putting it in the manifold? If so, with what kind of lube?

I want to say I've read where people lube the diaphragm but I recommend against it. In my experience it's easy to lube it too much making it become too soft and failing. I had this happen on a newly installed diaphragm where I had overlubed the bolt (experimenting with Mookies Urban Gun Goo).

YES!! I just had this happen to me. I put a new one in two weeks ago and low and behold I got home from the field last night and wanted to shoot off what paint I had left and it was puffing, so I removed the QEV and it was really soft, just put a new one in and whoosh, just like new, Thankfully it didnt break at the field during practice

Alas... no longer have my Demon
However, there isn't much difference between the two. Just some different orings on the new drive train.

Small amount on the outside of the shuttle oring (it is a moving part). I can't remember, but if there is an inner oring on the shuttle, lube that too.

If there is an oring... lube it. Kinda like a general rule in paintball guns. Other equipment though is a different story

I can't remember what he said - I know he said that they used the polys to try them out, then changed them back.
