Still competitive?
Been away from paintball for well just after the dm4 released. Are the dm3 still competitive (other than weight) with the current high end guns.

Well, you could still use one (if you got a psp ramping capible board) in most modern tournaments, but the features offered by the dm3 vs say, the dm13, the dm3 is not particularly competitive. While still good guns, nobody will be selling their luxe to play with a dm3.

What.. I've sold plenty of luxes because my dm3s are better..
Get a psp/nppl capable board and call it a day, other than weight there are no drawbacks. It still shoots 10.5/12.5 bps at 300fps while being smoother than modern markers all day long.

And having that extra weight helps keep your lanes on point or at least it does for me.

Very much so! But we're all bias. Also, invest in at least 4. Can't be too careful.

My teammate still rocks an e-matrix for practice. He does just fine with it.
It's a little more maintenance it seems, but when it's working it's amazing.

Most cost effective way really is to buy stock bodied matrixes with the parts you want, heh.
