Still testing this Sigma 30mm I got... I noticed it had some back focus issues, but that was an easy fix thru the micro adjust in camera. Turns out to be nice and sharp...

Reddog, do you ever shoot men's basketball? It's exponentially more exciting and easier to shoot (as far as basketball goes, anyway).

Got back to the FSAE team this semester trying to help out with decent pics for the team.
I'm trying to take photos of parts that sponsors will appreciate.

btw this started as a billet piece of AL that was turned by us and mill work done by a shop in Kansas City. If anyone is interested.
Because race car.

Not really. I curtail my for-hire work December-February due to a busy time at my day job. Learned that one the hard way. As a result, the only games I shoot during the local rec season are my daughter's and I don't take on any teams outside that. A couple of years ago I was shooting action for six teams in the rec league, and that schedule plus all the management stuff I have to do over year end for my day job nearly burned me out.
This particular game was pretty brutal, but I was also teaching another parent how to set up their D7000 for shooting action so I missed a few good moments.

Ouch. I shoot for my school so I get sideline/baseline action of a D1 squad and the women's games still nearly bore me to tears (no offense to you daughter or anything, I am not a big fan of basketball). My philosophy to sports is fairly straightforward. Wide open aperture, Continuous burst shooting, adjust the ISO to achieve the necessary shutter.
Finally baseball time here plus a spanking new field. All turf so no dust ups. First time doing baseball.
For those who like to know. Shot with a 5DMkIII, 70-200L w/ 1.4 extender II @ f/4, AV, started at 400 ISO and ended up around 2500 by the end of the night. Storm started rolling in.

The day that a ring an' a preacher made her my wife.
Yeah, an' I said: "I do," but I didn't have a clue,
How I'd miss all the whiskey an' women.
I tried to be true, but it's all I can do,
Keepin' up with the Jonesin'

I'm itching to do tennis but the home matches keep getting pushed back as they finish the brand new courts.

Its been a fun switch from basketball. Our gym lighting is horrible, so stepping out on the courts has been amazing. I've found that men's is much better then women's when it comes to shooting, alot more action.

Use the refine edge tool. http://www.photoshopessentials.com/p...electing-hair/
Took me about 1 minute to mask this and then paint over it with a red brush.
