Bob long vice help...

I am getting back to the sport, i havent played in arround 5 years. I used to have an ego 8 and now my frind wants ro sell me his vice for $300. I know nothing about this gun, like how old it is, how reliable, etc. He tells me it shoots great, that has a tadao board and pillow bolt. Ive been looking into axes and drones, but this seems like a good deal. Please help :s

Thank you

Shoots better than an axe or drone. Get it.

If you liked stacked tube poppets then buy it. I loved my vice and feel that it shoot much better than an ego.

I would say that the drone is an amazing gun for its price. And if you want a spool it's great.

I like my Vice and Protege more than any other marker I've shot, with the exception of one, that I can't recall what it was now.

The Vice is the best thing I've ever shot. It shoots better than my G6r and my friends Axe

Vices are pretty amazing guns. I have a Vice, Victory, and G6r. And out of the three. I shoot the Victory and Vice more than I do my newer G6R. It's kind of hard to describe but it just feels better to shoot. It's light weight, fast, and accurate. And not as loud as Ego's. And best of all very low maintenance. Just set it and forget it. For the price he wants I hope you picked it up. You won't be disappointed.

I love friggen vices. I'm not a fan of the non bearing stock trigger, but with a LP poppet, 4C eyes and a trigger upgrade you can absolutely rip with them. Crossfield shots with little barrel rise and amazing efficiency. I seriously love me some vice action.

Everyone says put the G6R grips on a Vice...I haven't tried them but I love the feel of the slim factory side plates on my Vice. I'll be honest, I was gonna run 2 AXE's this year but after picking up a Vice I soon bought a 2nd Vice "should be here this week"..I really like the feel of the Vice better, grip feels great, it's lighter than the AXE by a good amount and it just points & holds great.

I felt the opposite, i felt like that flat panels didn't give me a good feel for the gun. It's all about personal choice.

At the $300 price point, you're going to struggle to find a better, more reliable gun. They require little maintenance and tuning and perform quite well. I'd take them over an Axe or Drone. I may be a little biased as I own two of them.

The exposed bolt/ stacked tube thing is the only killer for me. I like single tube guns personally, but if someone is looking for a poppet then the vice is almost always the best value.

Only better value on the market is the Protege - same gun, less milling. Keep that in mind if you're looking for a backup with identical performance and feel. Fantastic pickup!

I had both Protege and Vice. Both amazing guns. But the Vice hands down one of the best guns out there. Wish I still had my Vice, but had to give it up for my 2012 G6r.
