Thinking I'm going to sell my ion to someone local. I never use it anymore and I don't need 2 open bolt markers with another open bolt project... I could probably sell it for 300 or so locally... plus I've got project ideas that I'm going to need to fund.
Electro cocker(possibly mq), a pump(possibly mq)... yes that's 2 different mq valves. I seem to enjoy torturing my bank account.
I was gonna say, that Ion would cover one of them with a little beer money left over. Maybe one gun, switch back and froth to/from pump? Kind of a pain, but a lot cheaper.
Also, if you're going to MQ one or the other, I'd go for the electro over the pump. Gotta say, I'm still pretty happy with mine, and REALLY glad I got on the MQ bandwagon back when they were available new and not super expensive.
I've got the orracle coming, and some guy i sort of know is offering me an 05 BM with lowers, front block, bolt, sled and pump arm and a standard mq (of course i already have the 11/16th) for 350... He just wants to break even on the parts he bought and never used.
I've got some older computers I could sell on craigslist here for probably more than I would online, and still be happy with what I got out of it - I NEVER use these computers anymore. One I plugged a usb drive into to watch top gear on last week... The other sits at my mothers unused.
You can do that with a revolved cut in most programs. Draw a circle in your bore that is the same diameter as the bore. Draw a circle at the top of the bore that is your desired feed diameter (.75" or whatever you plan on using), with the centerlines of the two circles being aligned. Connect the quadrant points of the 2 circles with their centerpoints to get a trapezoid. Revolve around the center axis and remove.
in inventor I would just loft the two different circular sketches and subtract
theres many ways to skin a cat, whichever makes the most sense to you
and if you are dead set on physically creating that taper in the breach you would probably have the easiest time just using a four jaw on the lathe, set your compound to that angle and feed in until you are at your correct diameter and depth
otherwise cnc is the way to go fo sho
