what bolt guide are you using? some of the recessed grooves on the guides are thicker than others.

And by don't fit I mean so tight the bolts can't cycle.

I have two shockers and both have eigen's. I have a total of four guides to use and I found basically the same thing. The first gun I found good fitting o-rings pretty easily. The other gun with the two guides I have for it were a completely different story. I went through over 60 o-rings that were buna, hbnr, and a few urathane. I found a total of one set for each guide that would work but they were still tight. One of the guides is a 9mm. I took the o-rings from it and but them on the other guide and they fit so loose they wouldn't even seal. So it's not just the bolt.

Thats exactly what I'm saying and one of the guides Im having trouble with is a gunslinger guide aswell and the other is hybrid.

my hybrid on my SFT allows the eigen to cycle but it's pretty tight. I'm hoping it works cause I don't really want to replace that guide. I thought about sanding down the tip a bit myself and taking a touch of material out of the oring groove.

That's what I'm going to do with my Hybrid guide. The grooves are just on the thick side, so while I can get a good fit on my HE guide, the Hybrid guide puts a bit too much drag on the bolt.

Just don't take it down too much. May cause a problem sealing.

so i went and played today with my new eigen bolt in. i'd put half a tank of air through it last week from a 68/48 then regreased. then today i put a case of paint through the gun then two tanks filled to 3300 from my 68/45. i played all day with the input pressure at around 190psi and the dwell at 10ms. it got clogged pretty bad after the first game (~300 balls). to the point i was getting maybe 50-100 fps shots. pulled the firing assembly out and cleaned it up and shot great after that. cleaned it two more times throughout the day and it shot awesome. here's what it looked like after putting the last tank of air through it at the end of the day:
not bad. and the bolt surface is already pretty smooth.
one question though, is this normal:
its a stock guide. All stock SFT internals
cliff notes:
Lurker turned my shocker into a killing machine

Those are the red silicone o-rings from lurker right? Those tend to swell as they get used, although it hasn't happened to everyone. Your gonna have to put some Buna 12/70's on, I'd even do that now. It would probably help out in ur efficiency.

yeah, those are the orings i got from Lurker. is there a specific vendor you guys suggest for getting orings?
oh and i forgot to add, after i got back home and cleaned up the internals, i dropped the input pressure to 150psi and my dwell to 7ms and it shot great. i couldnt confirm the velocity but it seemed like it was up to par. at least 225-250fps or more.

I really haven't stuck to one specific vendor but I have heard a lot about McMaster Carr and o-ring monkey. I think o-ring USA is another one, but I normally find good shocker o-ring kits on eBay, and they have worked for me. As for your adjusted settings, I think you may be too low. Mine is set at 160/10MS, and I'm shooting 270-275. You may wanna pick it up a little bit, particularly your dwell. It will help with consistentsy. Best thing to do though is get to a chrono. I don't even think mine is broken in yet. Give it some more time and use.

i'll chrono next time i'm at the field. i mostly wanted to see if it would even shoot that low, which it did.

lowest dwell at high fps I could get with a sprung bolt was 7 ms with no other mods. just don't expect super efficiency.

i wonder what would happen if we tried something like a higher dwell, and a lower operating pressure, like 140 operating, and a 14MS dwell or something.

I ran my dynasty at 14ms and pressure at about 115 and was shooting ~280. My efficiency was absolute crap. I was able to drop my dwell to around 10 without changing the input pressure and still maintaining ~280fps. I really think anything above and beyond the needed dwell is just wasted air.

You were running at 115 and 10MS dwell with your eigen? Were there any mods or ups anywhere in the gun at all? I wonder if mine can do that. No mods whatsoever, and besides the eigen, the only up in my bolt assembly is a NDZ ULP can. Sleeve is a non moded aluminum one.

I had to go to ~120-125.
I also have a modded sft can and a high flow bolt sleeve.

Ahh I see. Jim was telling me that if I took off the second front o-ring on my NDZ ULP, that it would increase air flow without having to flow mod. I haven't tried it yet.

You will know fear.

The eigen recocks with air in the can. At 114 psi I imagine all the air in the can is going to the ball and the bolt sits open waaaaaay too long

Had to switch to my Shocker today when my new PMR is FUBAR. Saw that the eigenbolts still show as in stock on the webpage, so picked her up a gift because she's always treated me right.

I agree. I started getting way way better results with a lower dwell and higher pressure.
