Need some advice on elbow pads

Hey guys so I am looking into getting my first pair of elbow pads. Im asking here because my local store only has the dye pair, so I cant go to try each of the different ones. Anyways I like the ones with the built in gloves. Here are the ones that I have looked at and like so far, how do they compare to one another?

Did you try the Dye pads yet? I suggest you try them on and see how they fit. They tend to fit tight. I found PE pads to fit a little looser, and I like them better. Never tried Empire or Sly.

Actually no I haven't tried them. Tomorrow I am going to the store so I will try them on then. Right now I am leaning towards PE pads, but I have to order those online. Is ansgear really as bad as everyone makes them out to be?

that is the best way to figure out. ans gear has never given me any trouble they have never messed up an order or shipped it really late. in my opinion the dye pads are my favorite. they have a tendency to last longer and the pinky and thumb loop is comfy. I'm not a fan of gloves built into the pad just because sizing becomes a HUGE issue at that time. a lot of people have large arms and xl hands or vice versa. you could get some awesome gloves to put on though.

So I must have missed the PE pads last time I was there because I only saw the Dye ones. However today when I was there I saw both of them and was able to try both on. I ended up going ahead and buying the PE ones. The mediums were just a little snug but the large kept sliding so I went with mediums. Hoping to try them out tomorrow!

I've used Dye, Empire and Sly.
I went through 2 pairs of Dye in one summer of Rec play because the seams kept letting go. The Empire ones were nice except the velcro around the bicep area would literally scratch me until I bled. I'm currently using the Sly pads over all I really enjoy them, they have some nice palm padding without making the hands feel bulky, they are super light and breathable, I don't notice I'm wearing them at all which is a plus. My only issue with them was that mine had a hole in one when I received it. (Keep in mind the Sly pads I wear are the newer ones, not the ones you posted)
