Shaft 4 barrel boring for Freak kits?
Is this only for the Shaft 4 barrels, and also, what is really gained from boring the Shaft 4 to accept a Freak insert other than making the barrel operate like a Freak barrel? Is it lighter, more accurate, more air efficient?
Thanks in advance

It lets you match bores using the freak kit, which offers a wider range of bore sizes than the shaft 4 has. In addition you get to keep using the shaft 4 barrel, which matches you're marker.
It will make the marker more efficient IF you use the freak inserts to underbore. However, the same can be said for any other barrel kit.

No its not just for shaft 4 barrels, most of the people that do this service offer it for all the other eclipse barrels.

I've thought about doing this but was wondering...the freak insert doesn't run the full length of the shaft 4 back, so the ball will pass through the bore of the freak insert, then the remaining bore of the shaft back before going through the tip. Does the ball going through 2 different bore sizes effect anything? Say the ball goes through a 691 insert, then 689 for the remaining length of the shaft back
Hopefully that makes sense

Thanks all, I might just have to pick up a backup barrel and freak kit just to have it around

Here in Mex paint comes from Us and elsewhere off course. I´ve been playing with a 684 / 682 / 679 depending on paint.
I shoot GI 4 star a couple of weeks back boring at 684 perfect
689 is a sure overbore nowadays
