New Tournament Gun?
I've been playing with a Tippman 98c Platinum Pro for about 6 months with my team I'm starting and I want a faster electronic marker that doesn't break the bank. I've been looking at the Invert Mini and also the Dye Rail13. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated. I will be using only compressed air so keep that in mind. Thanks

If you can spend $500 get an Empire Axe or an Etek 4, or just buy used. Empire Axe is a great marker that is quiet, smooth, and has one of the best triggers in paintball. The Etek is efficient, great for maintenance, and PE is just outstanding.

Obviously you are going to be using compressed air with a Mini or Rail. What is your price range, so we can give you some options?

Some of the best entry level electronic guns out there today:
Etek 3 & 4
Etha
Axe
Rail
My preference is anything PE. Even the Etha is worth looking into. Its very cost effective, durable, and you get great customer support from Eclipse.
Best to by your first used. You will save a little bit of money that way.

Axe or mini are amazing. Best customer support. They will pretty much send you any part on your gun for free with the lifetime warrenty. But reliability has to go to the reflex rail. Orings are cheaper for the reflex and its never leaked on me.

In my opinion, get the Axe. Best resale out of any mid-level guns. You can find lots of people on here willing to downgrade to an axe.

Axes have terrible resale. Most axes on ebay and even on here go for $350 unopened. I got mine for $350 from my shop.

It seems to me that people are willing to downgrade to an axe more easily you can find ego 11s here for like what 650? 700? Sure that's less than a 50% drop like the axe almost is but its also a marker twice as much.

I really like a mini. Used ones are under $250. You can mod it to an axe frame length with a fore grip extender for $35 and get a new trigger for $30. Add a Boss bolt for $40 and it's as good if not better than an Axe.
Make sure you get a V3 Mini with a Shockwave board. They are the best ones out there IMO.

I am currently using the new dangerous power G5. It is a great gun that is $300.
It is a fast, reliable, and is performing fantastic. I would recommend this because it is a great gun for a low price.

I would get either the Axe or the Reflex Rail. I would choose the rail because you would be able to adjust the length of the ASA so you can have your tank farther back or farther forward. The Axe is a great gun though, pro teams use it and it has worked out for them. Infamous won, I believe both PSP and NPPL Chicago using it this last year.

The Valken Proton is a very good start up tournament gun. It runs around $320 but it's worth it and I've never had problems with mine ever since I got mine.

In case you havent noticed everyone is going to recommend what they have. The first thing you should do is decide if you want a poppit or spool. I went poppit and got a etek3 but I would have been happy with an axe the etek was the first thing to come up on Craigslist. Other than that go with something thats got a good rep. Etek, Etha, Axe and mini all come to mind.

Come on Bump, you think you know better than somebody else what you have in your gun? As for just getting a new board from kee, I've heard there had to be something wrong with your optimus board in order for them to send you a new Shockwave board.
