You know, I misunderstood the whole reason for flattening the timing rod in the first place. I thought the flattened timing rod was acting like a poor man's trigger stop against the frame opening. I didn't think about the play between the rod and the trigger. I think all my triggers (slide and hinge) have a round timing rod hole, and I just assumed they were ALL round. My mistake.

I really dislike all you guys with all these cool EVO's...That's another gun "along with a Westwood cocker" that I regret not buying back in the day when they could be found at a decent price...I just have a hard time dropping a grand on one of them these days "wife has an even harder time with me doing it".

I have never in my life seen a Westwood at a decent price. Evos prices do seem to have gone up as of late as undrilled bodies and slider frames seem to be impossible to find.

Well yeah, there has never been a "cheap" Westwood, but when BBT was making them you could buy them new cheaper than used ones once production stopped on them....I just wish I would have bought a new one back in the day. Evo prices just kill me these days...Kinda like old Sandanas, if I would have known prices would have been like this back in the 90's I would have stock piled a lot of both, lol.

I don't know, Evolutions were never cheap either. I think they were the cheapest in 2005 to 2006 when people weren't really drilling them anymore but they weren't playing with them either.

True, they never were cheap...Buddy of mine I used to play on a team with back in the 90's decided he wanted an Evo so he started looking the other day...I think he had a stroke when he saw what they are selling for now. I think he thought he would pick up a mechanical one for $200-$300 tops.

I picked up 2 undrilled sliders early last year, both over $600+ each, and feel like a got a pretty fair price on each, considering the extra parts. I don't think I can buy another undrilled Evo X with matching slider frame for that amount now.

If I can remember correctly, when the distribution relationship between Smart Parts and Belsales stopped, Smart Parts dumped their excess Evo X stock on fleabay, during which you could buy a brand new, complete Evo X for ~$500 for a very short period.

If you want to go stock, the slider frame you're looking for is called an "Angry Frame". No one sells them new, so your best bet is to find them used and snatch them up quick when they pop up. They're rare, very sought after, and command at least a 125-150$+ price tag.

Tim, welcome to the Evo hoarders club. Where people are always friendly... unless an angry frame pops up for sale. All bets are off at that point.

I had to buy a whole cocker to get my last Evo Angry frame. I sold off the parts, but it was a huge pain.
Tim - were you trying to buy my Evolution for Zach?

It was for Zach. I told him no matter what, I wouldn't buy it now because of the barrel thing.
Thanks rich, it's not going anywhere.

Yeah, it's gone anyway. I traded it for a NIB DAM.
