God, my team is the kiss of death for players' seasons... I just picked up Reimer a day or two ago and he gets injured in his first game with me.

are you playing on the 360? if so, I usually pull the right thumbstick to the right and then when the ref first moves his arm to drop the puck i pull the left thumbstick back.
and pushing the left thumbstick forward will push back the opponent so your wingman or whoever can pick up the puck.
