When lubing put just a dab on your fingers and spin the piece with the oring on it between your thumb and fore finger. There is a picture illustration of it in the stickies of this forum. This is how you should lube your poppet as well.

The poppet on the Axe is so sensitive. If it isn't clean and lubed correctly the entire dang marker goes wacky. I had that problem this weekend when I dropped my poppet on my carpet, got it dirty, didn't noticed, and reinstalled it. There was my GF's hair stuck on the poppet and this caused a leak and was hilarious when I discovered it.
Just trying to help! I would appreciate the few less bonus balls when walking off
On another note I can't seem to get my Boss as consistent as my stock bolt. Kept breaking paint this weekend. And my reg is creepin . I'm gonna get it right eventually. Just takes a little tinkering
I put about 5000 psi through the bolt when some extra tanks I had so maybe that broke the spring in a bit better.

Im having that creeping problem as well with the boss bolt installed. When fixed could u post on here the solution and ill do the same. I was recommended to drop oil in the asa/reg so thats my next step once I have access to some air

I think it is a mis-conception.
A couple of crops in the ASA to lube the internal orings of the marker is fine (and recommended by Empire/Kee - and Simon, the designer) as it lubes the orings in the ASA/Reg.
What IS a no-no, is putting that oil ANYWHERE near the fill nipple. If it got inside the tank, it has the potential to combust - and it HAS in the past.

The bolt has nothing to do with reg creep.

Come on, you know paintballers. Anything worth doing is worth over doing. It is probably in the manual because if they say put a couple drops of oil in the asa you will have people putting half a bottle of oil in it. Also once you start using oil in the asa it is a good idea to do it every once in a while. Oil will wash out the grease that is in there.

Ahhhh good point. Well since u serviced mine I think I'm gonna just hold out and see if my creep levels out. The creep I have isn't too bad. Only a few psi.

Yes, that will ensure the oil gets to moving parts of the regulator.

Excuse my ignorance on the axe. I've been reading through and I believe I have this right, the longer spring made for fragile paint will create the smoothest shot along with proper set up/tuning?

Cant really say anything about fps consistency or exact efficiency. But using the infamous bolt with 3ms dwell, short spring, 1 1/2 turns out, and adjusted the regulator until it was shooting lasers at about 150psi. Didn't goto the chrono to check it out. I will admit that i did get better efficiency using my peanut 45/45 than I did prior to installing the bolt. Cant say how many pods though. Went from a sly pro-merc single .689 to a sly infamous .683. It was definitely an improvement under boring. Everyone with their egos, and geos disagree.
Also note, every time you go out to play two drops of extreme rage oil into the two holes inside your relay, take a couple dry fire shots with the barrel off, then youre ready to go.

OK guys my friend recently pointed out that my axe was missing the check valve, I got mine second hand. Normally a missing check valve will cause your are efficiency to go down but I never noticed because I got a boss bolt shortly after and never noticed anything (well anything bad, bolt works great).
Anyway after I put a check valve in, the bolt no longer cycles. There's only a small puff of air and the bolt moves slightly forward before resetting. Once I take the valve out, it works fine again.
Is the bolt supposed to run without the check valve?

You want to have the check valve in there. It would be bad to run without it. If the check valve is stopping the bolt from cycling then maybe your check valve is plugged.

You should get 10 pods pretty easily with the base setting provided. Just make sure to underbore with your barrel kit.
